When you get a chance I would like to know how to letter space text so as the text being typed in a text box that has been divided into small individual boxes using the rule tool such as a phone number, street address etc. will fall within each boxed area. I have long since retired as a graphic artist for a major printing company that was in Miami, FL. I use ID on my home Mac & am trying to make typeable PDFs to be used by a DAV Chapter I'm a member of here in Daytona Beach. good info ~ in the past I've cheated by leaving blanks/boxes, exporting, and then doing ctrl+shift+7 in acrobat to turn the blanks into form fields. But sometimes it guesses wrong, so it's good to know how to do it properly.

Not that I know of. I presume you're talking about the purple overlay. It doesn't show up if the user goes to print, but I don't know how to have it not show up at all. It's an Adobe Acrobat "feature."

But I saw a form where a whole page or additional questions would appear in the document depending on the answer to a previous question/check box etc. It is not something that I can figure out how to do on Acrobat, so I thought that it might be a InDesign function? Or even if not, that you may know how to do this? If you do know how to do this, I would so appreciate it if you could explain it. Thank you!!

Once you export? No the styles are permanently in the PDF unless you have an outside editor like Adobe Acrobat Pro. Then there is some meddling you can do.

It sounds like Adobe acrobat is just highlighting them as fillable items. Hard to say without a screen shot. I know there's a way to turn that off but it's been a minute since I've done it.
