How to Make it yourself Taiko Drum

How To make your own Taiko Drum using a car tire. Here are the DIY directions for the tire Taiko Drum. Materials needed: 1 cleaned car tire, 4 rolls packing tape, 1 roll Duct tape, and 1 pair of sharp scissors.
Work on 1 side of the tire at a time.
Place the tire flat on a table.
Cut strips of packing tape, and pull each across the tire to form spokes. Continue to place more strips across the tire, pulling each strip tightly as you go. Fill in all gaps to finish the first layer.
For a second layer start at one side of the tire and work across, overlapping each strip by about 1/4 inch.
Reinforce the sides with a third layer. Overlap these strips as you did in the previous layer.
Now turn the tire over and repeat the same process.
Once both sides are completed, put 3 strips of Duct tape around the tire. This makes it look nice and also secures the edges of the packing tape.
Your drum is ready to play. For homemade mallets, cut 2 pieces of broom stick. Try playing on different areas of the drum to find the best sound.
