TIP: Use Parchment Paper (baking paper) any time you're working with iron-on adhesives/interfacing. That way you don't have to worry about it getting glue/adhesive on your iron. Place it between your iron and your project before pressing.

These are my favorite shoes for the dolls.

I’ve made these shoes multiple times but have to rewatch this video each time I make a “batch”. The video is actually a little different than the instructions that come with the pattern, and, IMO, these instructions are much better! These shoes aren’t the easiest for a beginner, but with a little patience, you’ll end up with great shoes. (Best thing is they stay on their feet - can’t say that about all doll shoes!)

I have the Jane patterns and love making and adding them to all the outfits I make. Even though I have made them in the past, this video gave some helpful tips that will make the project a bit easier going forward. I love that the Janes can be used with fabric and you can match to outfits.

I've hand sewn sandals, Mary Jane's and saddleshoes for different styles of Barbie feet. But I haven't made these Janes. They are very cute. And I learned about using the heat bond tape. That looks very helpful.

Wow! I have never made doll shoes before, although I have wanted to try. After watching this, I am so excited to make some shoes! My granddaughters are always asking for shoes, and I have just bought them, but I am ready to start coordinating by making my own shoes to go with the dresses I sew. I am super excited to try some different shoe patterns! Time to get some shoe patterns and some pixie packs! I love these tips. They continually inspire me to be more creative and to try new ideas. Thank you so much for ALL that you do!

Thank you so much. Great video. Does anyone have any advice for an alternative to using cardboard soles? In the tropical climate where I live it's necessary to wash the shoes occasionally.
@SewingWithCinnamon Жыл бұрын
You could use the thicker 6mm foam instead of layering the chipboard, just cut about 1/8" additional seam allowance to accommodate the thicker foam inside the shoe (instead of 2mm chipboard). The cover the bottom with 2mm foam.
