Somen are one of my favourite noodles! Usually I eat with tsuyu but these noodles are very versatile. I made a somen omelet one time when I had lots of somen left from dinner. And it;s a fun coating for fried chicken. I really want that somen cooker!! Since in summer I eat them so often. Your poke style somen looks amazing!

In addition to the Salsa one you could do one with Guacamole or even just "PIco de Gallo" which basically is equal parts diced raw onions, diced tomatoes and diced Jalapeño peppers and if you like, some cilantro and lime to go with it too. It's usually served cold so I think it would match well with Somen!

With how hot it is here this week, the plain with cold soup sounds the best; Never had it, just sounds so refreshing! After that, the kimchi one would also be very interesting.

Thanks Satoshi! This summer is so hot everywhere and I really wanted to have cold noodles in a pinch. Luckily your video came up first, and I like the variety of recipes you have here. I unfortunately didn't have grated daikon that's usually with cold somen, but had julienned cucumbers instead and it was just as good. Your instant mentsuyu saved my dinner. Very delicious. I love the regular dipping somen recipe and with kimchi as well - the sour pickled taste is so satisfying. I'll be having more tomorrow, maybe with an egg 😁

These are all great ideas. I think I will try to make the gazpacho one and ahi tuna one. ( yum ! ) I feel like it might be a refreshing idea to do like basil pesto/avocado cold somen. I might even try ume/natto somen... u r giving me ideas lol
