They look fantastic! Seeing how that stitch works down the outer sides of the jeans is so interesting. I can only imagine how good it feels to wear jeans that not only fit great but knowing that you made them yourself! It's so awesome! And adding your logo is the perfect touch!

Well Done! Your hard work on the patter paid off. And you have enough room to account for shrinkage when you put them in a hot dryer.

Right, I totally did that on purpose and planned on leaving room for shrinking in the dryer 😋😅

My current plan is to use 10 weight firehose grade cotton to make an incredibly tough pair of jeans. I know they will take forever to break in but im tired of my clothes tearing! P.s. i know i can buy firehose work pants but im not spending $90 when i can spend $50 on fabric and 1 month of time to gain a new skill.

Indeed! So glad I watched this before I just dove in. I collect vintage levis 645, and 501s and 00s Abercrombie jeans. I bought an old 457 singer at a yard sale. My experience in this field is ironing my uniforms in the navy. So after shortening the length, taking in the rise and the last pair of cheap thrift jeans I took from a relaxed boot cut fit to a Robert Plant circa 1970s fit. Waiting for the needles and denim arrive to start making my 1st pair.. hopefully I can make the lowrise slim fit flared jeans that fit me and are not made for women ive always wanted
@mikochild22 жыл бұрын
how did it turn out?
@Dedhead69922 жыл бұрын
@@mikochild2 they fit perfectly. not to small not to big. that was my biggest fear, that I would make them to small in my effort to make them true vintage hip huggers. the stitching looks fantastic, well from the outside. lol turn them inside out and the stitches look... well they look sus af lol. other than that the denim I ordered is very heavy. I'm always careful not to over-launder my jeans. so I have this internal struggle between wanting to loosen them up and not wanting to wear out the denim haha
@mikochild22 жыл бұрын
@@Dedhead6992 thank you for the update! I thought you might not notice or respond since it's been a year since you originally commented. I'm glad they came out mostly how you wanted. I haven't sewn anything in 30 years so I probably won't start with jeans. But I will work my way up to them. Wish me luck!
