How durable is the sword/build after being made? i.e: Would it snap if swung at a decent rate just to show off on cam? or no? Or does it just depend on how well you glue it, and whether or not you use a gluegun
@y_e64248 жыл бұрын
Well it would snap if you swung it hard flat side. The popsicle sticks would snap but I'm thinking you're doing a little cosplay? If you are no it would be fine to swing it around a little bit.
@TsukubaAono8 жыл бұрын
Yeah; I'm doing cosplay builds and such. Using the video as a reference when making some sword props. But hmm.. maybe to add a little strength to it, as well as to match some weight problems, maybe I should add some small metal rods beside the Popsicle sticks. As per swing force, I'd be imagining Myself or Someone else Cosplaying with the weapon prop and swinging it around to match a certain scene or pose, etc.
@y_e64248 жыл бұрын
Yeah itll be fine As long as you don't spar or swing it around really hard yes its durable.

Returacan For the Hot Glue, why do you not use the same glue spreading technique you do with the paper parts? Doing so would result in a slightly more sturdy sword. Or does the hot glue dry too quickly?
@Returacan10 жыл бұрын
i dont spread hot glue, you want it to stay liquid for as long as possible while your working on it, even high temp hot glue solidifies in about 10 seconds, making it completely useless

Question! I am intending to use this technique to make a full sized scythe and am curious where I should put the pop sickle sticks on something so large and weather I should do one row or 3 or 5 or just make the entire thing out of wood... ...help please
@aydenwofford487210 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the dimentions of the scythe blade, if its a bigger one I would use 5-6 rows, if it is smeller I would use 4-5 rows. But of course the easiest way would be to build the whole thing of wood, but I do think it would look better with this technique. If you do choose paper over wood, email me a picture of the finished product, as I am rather intrested in how it would look. My email is aawofford@gmail.com
