Hi Will, i have a suggestion what you should make as well, it's a great project and fits with the Dark Repulser and the Elucidator, you should make the Lambent Light, it's also from Sword Art Online!

What you could do is, cut out and glue the middle 2 pieces, paint them, then bevel them for a nice clean edge without any masking. Same goes for the outer 2 pieces except glue them on last. The decor can be painted and glued last as well. Just something I thought about while watching this. ;) I'm for sure going to make this sword since SAO is one of my favorite anime series. Can't wait to see your next project!

Agreed, Asuna's rapier might be tough to do with foamboard due to the thinness, but you could always do Kirito's Dark repulsor too which is just as much awesome! That said, i'm really glad you made Elucidator, i'll definetly be using the plan to make a kirito cosplay!

MrSvingy yes, a metal rod would make it stronger but more dangerous. A wooden dowel is bettter. Not sure what glassifier is.

Dylan W mark the dowel and where you will put it then cut a little slot that covers half of the dowel so it will be totally covered and won't change the width of the sword.
