In summer season everybody wants to protect themselves from the heat. From dresses to food… we make all possible changes in our home. We stock all fruits and vegetables in the freezer to keep everything handy. Whenever we are feeling thirsty, we pick-up a lemon and ice cubes to make a lemonade. After coming back from the office, we want to have something handy and refreshing. After long working hours our body & mind is not in a position to enter into the kitchen and prepare anything.
At this situation, we depend upon cool drinks for quick boosting energy. We know all cool drinks have preservatives and they damage our health after sometime. So, instead of cool drinks we can try homemade fruit squashes. With minimum ingredients we can make them our own. We can skip preservatives too. Here, I am sharing “How to make Homemade Lemon squash” recipe. No preservatives in it. So, let us jump into the recipe.
Lemon Squash Recipe Ingredients:
Fresh Lemon - 20 No
Sugar - 2 cups
Water - 1 cup
Salt - ¼ tsp
Preparation Method:
1) Take Lemon. Wash and clean well. Cut them into half. With the help of squeezer squeeze out juice from the lemon. For this recipe we need 1 cup of lemon juice.
2) Take 2 cups of sugar. We need sugar in double quantity to the lemon juice.
3) In a vessel, add sugar and water.
4) Keep this vessel on the stove and cook on high flame.
5) Sugar gradually melts and becomes like syrup.
6) For squash recipe we need single string consistency (like Gulab Jamun syrup).
7) Continuously check for right consistency and turn-off the flame
8) Let this syrup cool completely.
9) Now, mix lemon juice and salt. Combine well.
10) Transfer this lemon squash into a clean & dry glass bottle.
11) Store this bottle in the freezer. It lasts more than a month.
How to make Lemonade with Squash:
1) Add Ice cubes into a glass.
2) Add 2 to 3 tsp of Lemon Squash into it.
3) Add water or soda or fruit juice to it.
4) Mix well and have.
How to add different flavours to Lemonade?
We can add extra flavours to our lemonade.
1) Lemon Soda : Instead of water add Soda and a pinch of Salt.
2) Ginger Lemon juice: Mix ¼ tsp grated ginger into the lemonade.
3) Mint & lemon juice: Add 2 to 3 fresh mint leaves into it.
4) Fruit juice: Mix any fresh fruit juice with lemon squash.
5) Sabja sharbath (Basil Lemonade): Add soaked Basil seeds to lemonade. We can all these seeds with other fruit juices also. Because of cooling properties Basil seeds keep our body cool and hydrated. It keeps our tummy fuller and helps to reduce appetite.
