Have you ever seen Liquid OXYGEN before? In this video we're making a batch, and it's blue! Wondering how to make liquid oxygen at home? Think you have what it takes to make homemade liquid oxygen? We’ve seen experiments where you can make homemade liquid oxygen, but we wanted to know if it was possible at home and if it’s easy. Grant Thompson has done some cool experiments in the past and in this video, we're just experimenting if it is possible to make liquid oxygen. We dive into the chemistry of liquid oxygen. Hopefully this gives you an idea as to whether or not you can make this at home.
This interesting homemade liquid oxygen experiment is perfect for those wanting to try some cool experiments with this cool liquid: making liquid oxygen, how to make solid oxygen, liquid oxygen explosion, how to make hydrogen, how oxygen is made, how to make liquid nitrogen, how to make liquid nitrogen at home easy, how to make liquid oxygen from liquid nitrogen, homemade no2, how liquid nitrogen is made, liquid nitrogen experiments, liquid nitrogen on a budget, DIY liquid nitrogen, or liquid oxygen at home experiments.
If you want to test something creative and entertaining or do an activity such as: science experiment, STEM project, STEM science experiment, science fair project, science fair experiment, or a fun weekend project...watch the video to learn more.

You should dip iron and copper into the oxygen to see if it will oxidide (rust) Like If you want grant to see! Edit: Turns out someone else came up with this idea as well, but I hope he sees one of our comments Edit#2: If that doesn't work how about cooling molten iron with liquid oxygen?

I second this. I would think that it would rust much faster than normal, but I can't be sure. Also, try dipping a peeled apple slice in it for like 5 seconds and see if it comes out all brown and mushy. (well mushy when it thaws lol)

Yes, it would be fun to make it and mess with it, but the problems with making liquid helium is the fact that it is near impossible to have it turn into a liquid state, since its boiling point (the temperature that helium vaporizes at) is an insanely low -452 degrees Fahrenheit (or -268.9 degrees Centigrade,) the lowest of any element on the periodic table. Besides, it is extremely hard to find on earth, and the price is rising fast. The price rose 70% in a mere 13 years.

Can you modify your rocket from a previous project, so that it uses liquid oxygen and any hydrocarbon as liquid propellant? But be careful with hydrocarbons in contact with liquid oxygen. I'd recommend ethanol or isopropanol to get a nice and clean reaction! And start with small amounts...

No because first, it would fill our lungs, making it hard to breathe anything, and second, the is just Oxygen (O). The Oxygen that we breathe is O2, which is two Oxygen molecules bonded together.

Ethan Valentine I've no idea where you got that - a diatomic element is always diatomic. It's O2. The only problem is that the liquid is not accepted into the alveoli.
@youmakeitwhatitis
@youmakeitwhatitis 7 жыл бұрын
The only real problem with this is the temperature and/or pressure and their effect on your flesh. People breathe pure O2 from tanks sometimes. You just breathe less if you get lightheaded. Look up world records for holding breath, or Wim Hof method.

wrong, diving tanks are not oxygen they are compressed air which is about 29% oxygen, or nitrox which is 39% to 45% but NEVER pure oxygen or higher than 50% as oxygen is toxic at depth
