Your way is best fry meat and veggies first then brown the shell that way I know all is well done. I like the way your mom taught you to make lumpia. I'm going to try luck at a batch of them. Thank you

These look delicious and so easy to make! To freeze, you would freeze them in raw form rather than after frying them?

This looks yummy! Thank you for sharing. I love that you can freeze them. Childhood memories for me would be my mom's homemade vegetable beef soup or our "secret" great great grandmother's anise sugar cookie cutouts. So many dishes remind me of my childhood because I was very lucky that both parents love to cook and bake. ❤

Amazing! I have been looking for this recipe forever. I am curious, how do prepare the eggrolls for freezing, so they don't stick together.
@yasemine63214 жыл бұрын
Hi Elizabeth, maybe at this point you’ve figured it out but just in case I thought I’d share. After you roll the lumpia, you can place them separately on a baking sheet that has wax paper on it. Put that in the freezer, then when they are frozen you can finally place them together in a bag and they will not stick.

Hi Crafty Mom. our Filipino Lumpia is not an egg roll because the wrapper used for it is made of flour and water only. We usually call it a Filipino pork or vegetable Spring rolls but for some reason from the vlogs I have seen of Filipino Americans cooking it they prefer to use beef. No problem. Whatever makes people happy. I believe it is our Filipino Muslims who use beef because obviously they are not allowed to eat pork. We also have an egg roll wrapper but it is cooked more like a crepe and used as a wrapper for fresh vegetable Lumpiang Ubod I.e. Heart of Palm. Enjoy!

You said egg roll wrappers, but the ones in the supermarket seem too thick for lumpia. Is there a special type of wrapper used for lumpia?
@psyche99083 жыл бұрын
make sure it says "lumpia" and not "egg rolls". There is a big difference, lumpia wrappers are paper-thin.

I see some fillipino don’t pre ok there meat, they roll meat raw and then deep fry
@psyche99083 жыл бұрын
Rolling the meat raw is more common than pre-cooking the meat for lumpia here in the Phils. For one, it's juicier and IMHO tastier. Pre-cooked meat in lumpia will give you dry lumpia after deep-frying, eeewk...
