I specifically remember my dad refusing to teach me how to make Mac and Cheese when I was a kid and then criticized me when I tried, so I didn’t learn until I was living on my own (about 19). I really appreciate you taking the time to teach simple things like this for kids who may have had similar experiences!

Hey, I actually really appreciate the cooking stuff. I grew up without a father and a mother that had schizophrenia. And cooking is a thing I still struggle with a lot, I can cook food so that they are edible, but rarely actually taste good. Which is why I've always disliked doing so, a lot of work for something that didn't taste that great, so take out is ordered too frequently. It's easy but expensive. So thank you, for the video's! They are actually so so helpful.

Just love love love this video.....I called my son at his group home and had him search it out on his tablet, and when he found it, I told him to go right now to his staff and have them watch it with you and then go get what you need to make it. I told him a box of macaroni, and hot dogs. The rest will be at the house. I kept it simple. I would tell him other things to add like broccoli or the tomato comment I saw here....but that would be too much for him to handle. Anyways, Dad you are off the charts again. I agree with another commenter 5 STARS

Please watch some more recipes, I hope you know that this is the most baseline cheap, bland version of Mac n cheese. I mean at least he put a little extra cheese on it, but damn no heavy cream, good butter, real cheddar, Gouda, maybe some mozzarella, and then the best is to bake it after. Even then if you want a really simple and easy version, velveeta combined with some other cheeses you can buy, mixed in with whole milk makes an amazing sauce. Just know that you can make Mac and cheese insanely better than this. I know this video is intended for simple easy Mac, but the world of good Mac is amazing

The oil also prevents boil over. Plain water with pasta will always make a froth that gets down in your stove and makes a mess. Olive oil or Canola oil with do just fine. Like Dad, I almost always throw in some extras to fill out frozen or boxed meals. A can of vegetables, extra spices (which can be cheap), or even frozen extras like mushrooms or broccoli can make a side item into a full meal. Vegetables are important.

For all us non-americans who don't have boxed mac&cheese in the store, you can achieve the same result by buying just dry spaghetti/macaroni and a piece of basically any kind of hard cheese. You fry the hotdogs a bit, then just break the dry pasta into smaller pieces (sorry Italians) and cook them like in the video. Pour off the water then grate the whatever cheese you got and mix everything together on low heat, put a lid on it, turn off the cooker and just let it sit for a while. Cheap, simple, done in a few minutes and an excellent dinner for tired evenings.

That's the way I first made it on my own. They used to have the instructions for doing that on the box but got rid of it for some reason. Which sucks cause it's kinda safer to not be messing with boiling stuff and draining it as a kid. You do need a bigger bowl than you think though.

I know a few people who NEED this video… I dont have the heart to tell them, i just hope they discover this themselves, because there’s nothing manly about the microwaveable KD cups… Simple stuff like this separates boys from men, and the world only gets deeper and harsher from there. You learn to wipe your own bum, and you learn to boil water, etc. This video is going to be a life changer for alot of people. Turn that negative to a positive. From the ground up. Simplicity is what spawns greater ideas.
