Thanks for the tip on the nail gun… I didn’t know orientation of the gun itself would make a difference on blowout. Great tip and an enjoyable video as always. Best to you and yours.

Great tips, I especially like your design for the cutting board handles over the dozens of woodworking videos that I have viewed on KZbin lately.

Love your stuff Jon, but one simple and cheap suggestion for these boards that will make them even more useable....four rubber feet. I use 1" rubber feet held in place with a center screw. Nothing is more annoying than chasing a cutting board across a super slick granite counter top, and the rubber feet cure that issue.

Thanks for sharing. I watched this video, went out to my shop and made up the handle jig and It worked fantastic on the big cutting board I have been working on. Also thanks for the tip on cutting the juice grooves. I had already cut my juice grooves on this board, but this system looks a little easier.

I use the cove bit to cut finger grips on each end so both sides of the board are usable.

First, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Jon!!! I need to head back to New Jersey one day to visit family. Great video. Just took a 3D cutting board class from Alex Snodgrass...still need to finish sand it and may very well take your instruction above into account as I finish it. Thank you!

Jon, have a good Thanksgiving! Folks, support this channel because Jon and his wife have to feed their giant sons Thursday. That’s gonna run into the thousands of dollars.

Is it difficult to keep the router tight to the board? Is there a tip for that? It looks like you are cutting counterclockwise. Why?
@ValerioFanelli

maybe you can make the finger grab in the middle, so you can also use the other side :)

Not sure why you wouldn't just use a pattern bit and simple flat jig for making the handles.

When you cut the pockets out of the cutting board wouldn’t it have been easier to employ pattern bit instead of a straight bit and a bushing?

Nice work, but I think the finger cutouts are too far in from the edge for aesthetic reasons, they don't need to be more than 2 knuckles deep to be ergonomic. Cheers

wow that's an aggressive finger groove. I've always just use my 1" core box bit on the router table but even then I'm only using half the bit so the groove only goes half an inch in. Perfect for getting your fingers right under there though
