Todd's Kitchen take the whole sheet of marshmallow and cut it with even sides and smear partially set chocolate mousse or your favorite flavor mousse in a layer over top and roll it up. Freeze for a few minutes so it sets in the roll and cut to serve! Or layer the fully set mousse over the marshmallow, roll, and stick a toothpick through to hold and serve.

Pardon my ignorance, but I thought that marshmallows actually contained extract of the marshmallow plant...so what is the marshmallow plant used for? These are just gelatine and pure sugar.
@jmowreader
@jmowreader 10 жыл бұрын
The marshmallow root extract contains a "mucilage" - kinda like the gelatin he's using here but it's also an herbal medicine. If you don't want your marshmallows to have medicinal qualities, this isn't what you want to use. (It's good for treating ulcers. You can't get high on it.) Be careful if you do this and watch the thermometer. When the temperature starts to reach 200 degrees, start stirring the hell out of the mixture so it won't boil over.

Korebetha Ahiok ahiok...idiot, my question was based on a cooking stand point. I buy and eat marshmallows, but I also cook, and sometimes I like to cure my curiosity by cooking stuff I usually buy. In my research I find information that explains certain aspect of the recipes I'm interested in. Only an idiot thinks it knows all, only a person that wants to amplify their mentality asks questions to learn. Don't waste your time trolling others, do something more constructive than being an idiotic pest.
@EternalRoman
@EternalRoman 10 жыл бұрын
Jim Mowreader Thanks for curing my ignorance. I know one can change some aspects of the standard if some recipes. Although I always figured a marshmallow would contain at least a bit of what it's named from. I guess the important thing is that it tastes good and that it doesn't kill u...at least if one doesn't abuse it :)

Alright Eirene now that is just a stupid "old wives tale". Your doctor doesn't have a shred of common sense if that is what you were told. Here is the simplest way to test your thought. Measure your stomach first thing in the morning and then after eating a normal controlled meal. Eat 1 bag of marshmallows and repeat experiment. If marshmallows were able to cause the effects you list it would be a huge wide caution ban on the substance and people that disobeyed would need stomach pumping surgery. Not to mention the huge stomach mass gained. If you actually believe this to be true then you've lost the ability to think on your own. Even chewing gum won't stick to the inside of your stomach. Your stomach is designed to break down everything and push it to your ass. You are probably one of those people that believe gluten is actually bad for you as well... lol.

I love responding to ignorance with rudeness. Because both are so blind and make you want to stab your eye balls out to read. The point I was making was that there is a fad based on the idea that gluten is bad for you because it sticks to your intestines. When it is just a simple protein that breaks down easy. Same thing with a marshmallow. It is a combination of basic ingredients that we eat in many other combinations and beak down easily. I use rudeness to because I find it as offensive to not think for yourself or even do research on the topic.
