Hey Neighbors! We just finished eating our batch. You will notice that you have some soy sauce leftover. You can re-use it for a second batch: simply bring the soy sauce up to boil and let it gently simmer for 1-2 minutes. Then let it cool down. And then add in another batch of eggs. Or you can you boil and save it as a dipping sauce for pan-fried tofu, Korean pancakes, dumplings, etc. 👍

Future Neighbor sweet! I didn’t read this comment on time and end up dumped it out. I made it and it is one of my husband favorite. I made it a bit harder (7 minutes instead of 6) and also boiled the soy sauce with water and season to make sure it is all mix together and wait for it to cool down and use it. For anyone have question about does it get rubbery after 2 days? My answer is no lol I have it for about a week and it still good. U can tell it is more marinated flavor for sure though.

I've always been jealous of morning people. I used to be a morning person when i was a kid but lost that ability a looooong time ago, and now I just want to cry when i hear my alarm. Luckily my work is pretty understanding about it so they let me show up a bit late as long as I work a bit late too (I actually work over 40 hours a week every week but only clock in for 40, which is why they dont mind) and nobodies fired me for being kind of a jerk when I walk in first thing in the morning and the morning people want to talk to me.

I mean, this seems perfect to me. I love eggs, I love onions, garlic, chili... mm. Do want. Oh! Also! I tap the eggs like you do, but I add baking soda to the water instead of vinegar. I’ve tried vinegar, but to me baking soda works better!

@angelusnielson71356 жыл бұрын
change the PH balance of the water, same as the vinegar.
@IlseBelievesInPink4 жыл бұрын
@@angelusnielson7135 and what does that do? Does it make the peeling easier? Does it help to keep the yolks in the center during cooking?
@v1c4r10u56 жыл бұрын
Also, my top tip for getting the shell off is just getting them into ice water as soon as they're done boiling, then crack the shell all over and dip it back in the water. Getting water under the membrane helps it come away really easily! Re-dip into water as necessary or even peel them under water entirely. Plus, cooling them really fast prevents that nasty grey ring around the yolk if you're really hardboiling!
@sarahnapier1865 Жыл бұрын
I pierce the base of each egg with a small needle, then I cool the eggs in cold waters with ice cubes. I let it cool until it is at least room temperature, or slightly cool. Finally after cracking the base of the eggs and removing the shell, I use a small spoon along the contour of the egg to remove the shell.

If you HB your eggs in a pressure cooker - 5/5/5 - less for soft boiled like yours are here, they peel instantly. Regular pressure cooker- do not need anything fancy or digital. Bring to pressure for five minutes, then let it sit as it releases for five minutes, then put in ice bath for five minutes. They practically jump out of their shells! And as for the recipe- OMG- YES! These are fantastic! I make them often - my son just inhales them lol- I had no idea re the "drug" aspect- lol- I guess inhales is an apt description then!

We have this meal too in Indonesia. Actually a meal that required egg, chicken, or even tofu drenched or marinated in soy sauce. . But Indonesian common soy sauce is sweet. So we don't need sugar to make it, sometimes we add salt to it. The ingredients almost the same, soy sauce, onion and garlic, green onion, stir on the pan. Put in sweet soy sauce, and put in eggs, chicken, tofu, anything. . We use sweet soy sauce like korean use gochujang, so it's very common.

I always put about a teaspoon of white vinegar in when cooking hard-boiled eggs. I think it makes it easier to peel.
