So I have a huge patch of peppermint in my backyard so I use it a lot for tea would this be good for sweetening regular Black Tea and also what is the consistency
@frugalfamilyhome7 жыл бұрын
Ingada 2 It would work to sweeten black tea. The consistency is thicker than water but not quite as thick as pancake syrup when it's cooled.

Thanks! I will be sure to make some.

this method is spot on for getting the oil out but if you also wanted the colour just throw it in a vitamix and run it through a fine mesh👍

Did that as well. I blitzed it with my Ninja. However, I made a concentrate of Mint Syrup. It isn't perfected and it's gonna be used to make gummies instead.

Can this mint syrup be used as ice cream flavour?
@frugalfamilyhome4 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it would work for that too.

I noticed you used the steeping method. What are your thoughts on boiling the mints with the sugar and water?
@frugalfamilyhome8 жыл бұрын
AllAmericanGuy01 I think that would work too, I've just always used the steeping method.

adding the mint at the beginning of the reducing process will give it a darker hue, but there’s nothing wrong with it unless you’re worried about the colour.

Hi! Does it work with sweetener? For example with erithrit? If yes, what could be the volume of it?
@cgregornik5 жыл бұрын
Hello Nikolett, I have never tried erithrit but upon researching it looks as if it would work. Being only 60 to 80 percent as sweet as sugar I would use 1/2 a cup per cup of water but I would also increase the amount of mint to 1/2 as well. I like my simple syrup light and my mint stronger than what is shown here. Try it, at worst it will be not sweet enough; where you would just add more sweetener after reheating. Or too sweet where you would just add more water.

How long we can store it❓

We store ours in the refrigerator for a week or two. It never last too long. You can also freeze it in ice cube trays to store it longer.
