This wine is so delicious and easy to make. It is a sweet wine, more like a desert wine. I like it chilled and usually drink it after a meal. It will warm you right up!
Chinese Rice Wine contains more than ten kinds of amino acids, thus people call it liquid cake. The nutrients in it can be easily absorbed, including the elderly people, pregnant women and the weak people. Chinese rice liquor has the functions of promoting appetite, helping digestion, relieving summer heat, refreshing oneself, promoting blood circulation, and moisturizing skin.
Ingredients:
3 cups extra glutinous rice
1 packet (25g) sweet wine cake, crushed into fine powder (available in most Chinese supermarkets)
1 glass jar
Instructions:
1. Rinse and cook 3 cups of extra glutinous rice. After rice is cooked, set it aside to cool down.
2. Crush the sweet wine cube until it turns to fine powder.
3. Add 1 layer of rice to bottom of glass jar, sprinkle sweet wine powder onto rice. Add a layer of rice in top and continue to layer with powder abs rice until all rice and powder are used up.
4. Use plastic wrap to cover the top of your jar and seal it right with the lid.
5. Place the jar in a warm spot.
6. In about 7-8 days you will notice liquid starting to form. By day 9-10 your wine is ready. Chill the wine in the fridge before drinking.
7. You can eat the rice as well. If not you can use a cheese cloth to drain all the wine from the rice, place the wine in the fridge and then enjoy.
