I started as a side hustle my stationery webshop especially for writers and mentoring in creative lifestyle (combining psychology degree with what I love), and hope that one day I will publish my books from this money. Great video! Have a blessed day, Mandi!

It's not 20 books a year; it's having 20 books total which will add up to earning 50k.

Good advice! It’s surprising how many people think their first book will make it big enough for them to make a living.

Oh how I wish that was the case!

Thank you so much for this video. I would also like to eventually make my writing a full-time job, but I know it takes more than just writing sometimes. I think it's also cool all these services that you provide! Also also! I just finished yours and Bethany's book series on marketing and found them super helpful! Can't wait to dive in and better my marketing of both myself and my novel! Cheers!

I didnt think it was 20 books in a year. It was twenty books at like X amount of money, with 70% royalties :) I think you'll get there!!

I think you might be right (in which case I've been misquoting for ages haha" but here's the official definition: twenty books earning $7.50 each per day to make $50k per year I assume the closer they're published the better since the theory is books have a shelf life of 2 years :)

@@MandiLynnWrites Ahhh I see. Yeah, it's still something that can work in theory but I think that there's still marketing techniques that'll help slow releases too.

This is a great video and very realistic. Being an author takes a lot of work, and sadly, that statistic didn't surprise me. I also plan on keeping a full time job because it takes a long time to get where you are financially stable as an author

I encourage a lot of authors to keep their full-time job, just because when you depend on your writing as an income it puts more pressure on you and makes the entire process less enjoyable.

Lots of great advice here!! :) I'm planning to create a course on public speaking for authors, since that's the main thing I'm qualified to teach! (Over a decade of public speaking experience + 3 years of experience teaching it) But I think that all of your suggestions can be really helpful. Man, one day I'd love to write 20 books a year! lol

Oh that'd be amazing! I took a public speaking class in college and loved it!
Very interesting video Mandi! I’m going to check the Facebook right away 😊
