I like Roland’s trading style very much, as I am myself a day trader of small caps to the long side. I am now consistently profitable, and I can tell you that the key to playing the High of Day breakout is to only buy small with relatively small share lots. This allows you to keep your risk to a bare minimum, given the fact that most of them will fail, but this would allow you to find one or two plays per day that do take off-and some of them might even halt up significantly. If you follow this strategy, and set a stop loss quickly, you can’t go wrong. Also-buy the afternoon reversal usually after 2pm, and most commonly capitalize on the 3pm/3:30pm bounce.
