Big time game changer!!! I picked up one off of Amazon for about $25 and it came with 20 attachments, scrubbers , polishing pads & brushes (several sizes and shapes) of every kind! I’m absolutely in love with it, I’m just like a little kid at Christmas! When customers see you pull this out they know you’re not playing, they know the professional is here. And you talk about efficient! I cleaned out burnt pans that would otherwise needed to soak all day I had those clean in less than 3 min! Clean the sink that was 42 years old with a drill brush and barkeepers friend, absolutely amazing! I got so far down into the drains that even my garbage disposal now looks new. Once again thank you Angela and Angela‘s team for sharing all of your handy handy Info!

Great video, and I ordered a kit from Amazon for 40.00. Just a thought though, you recommended using a corded electric drill. In most homes there is a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) in the kitchens and bathrooms, but some older homes don't have this protection. Since you are working in a wet environment, an electric drill is unsafe. The Black & Decker drill you are using is ungrounded so if water travels on the outside, you could get a lethal shock. Most new battery drills use lithium-Ion batteries and there is very little self-discharge. Even if you don't use it for months, the batteries will hold their charge. Don't mean to be judgmental, but I thought this would be worthy of your consideration.

They do sell GFCI devices you can plug inline between the wall outlet and your power cord, you can buy them for relatively cheap online. I'm not sure I would trust my life to it, and I would be sure to get a UL certified product. Having one would greatly increase safety when using a corded drill on an outlet without GFI

I'm just getting into this, i already had a 12v drill from a personal project, and that little thing does well. i have 2 batteries for it and so far in the time it takes me to drain one battery the other is already charged, so if i were get to a house for cleaning and noticed the batteries were dead i could charge one while doing other cleaning. a quality 12v drill runs about $100, and is light and small. I love working with it. Another plus of the corded vs battery is you need to bring the batteries in from the car when its cold. cold isn't good for batteries and at the very least causes them to drain faster while sitting. The reason i bought a 12v drill in the first place is it makes a nice drill driver for things around the house, and being small can fit in tighter areas than more normal sized drills.

You CAN indeed purchase different brushes and make your own. All it takes is a washer and a bolt. Use the drill in reverse so it doesn't unscrew and replace brushes if ever needed. Much cheaper for a much larger varity. There are videos on that as well for anyone not confident.

EEEEK....BE SAFE!!! Drill Brush says that you are NOT supposed to use Drill Brushes with electric (plug-in) drills but ONLY BATTERY POWERED DRILLS. They say this is due to additional power of plug-in drills and the risk of electrocution when using around cleaners and water. I'm a Drill Brush fan and use them a lot detailing my car as well as cleaning in the house. I hope you'll reconsider and invest in a good battery powered drill. Dewalt batteries last a long time and hold their charges well and re-charge quickly.

Watching you vacuum in that foyer at 0:58, I have a suggestion. I saw you stop, bend down, and move the vacuum power cord multiple times. In the interest of "work smarter, not harder", try vacuuming AWAY from the power outlet instead of towards it. That way, the power cord stays mostly out of your way as you move across the room. Over multiple rooms and houses per day, think of all the accumulated time moving the wire that you'll save. Not to mention the reduced bending over, which will save your back muscles!
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your suggestion and keen observation! You're absolutely right that vacuuming away from the power outlet can be a smart strategy to save time and effort. By doing so, I can minimize the need to constantly move and adjust the power cord, making the vacuuming process more efficient. Your tip about reducing bending over is also valuable, as it helps preserve back muscles and minimize strain. I appreciate your thoughtful input and will definitely keep this in mind during my cleaning routines.

I'm not sure how I feel about some of this. As quickly as I had my ah ha moment when you mentioned the batteries being heavy to explain why you would prefer a corded drill, I thought about the cord, in the shower, or any other area with water and/or cleaning solutions. I have learned to respect the danger in using electricity around areas that could be wet. :(

Hi Angela, between this and Homitt Electric Spin Scrubber, which one would you recommend for personal use? My impression is that Drill Brush got more power than Homitt, so better for deep cleaning. I believe Homitt might be easier to use as it has angled head, extension and probably lighter than a drill. But I worry that Homitt doesn't have as much power as Drill Brush. Any thoughts, please?

The brushes you can soak in a bucket of diluted bleach 2 oz to 1 gallon of water. Soak your brushes overnight. NOTE: It's helpful if you have a big bucket or a bowl in a safe place like a laundry room sink where taking them out of the bucket won't drip water on the floor and stain the floors or any fabric nearby.

Hi Angela, I have a white leather lounge & a cream leather lounge, I clean both of these by hand with the Meguiar’s products as I was always told to never use a brush on leather as you can ruin the grain so I was very interested in this clip that you used that brush. Think I am going to up my game & buy that kit to save time 😏
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 3 жыл бұрын
The secret to using the brush is to only use the white one. There are different colors in the set and they all represent different levels of stiffness to the bristles. Check out this link amzn.to/3upJ6y0 and it will take you to the product on Amazon. Click on the pictures of the product on the left and one of them is the breakdown of which color of brush to use on what type of surface. You are correct that you can ruin the leather if you use a brush that is too tough by scratching the grain. Let me know how you like them. I'm eager to hear your experience. :-)

@@AskAngelaBrown Thanks for getting back to me Angela. The brush set looks great. I do have a confession I purchased a baby’s brush & tried that on the lounge & it did work but because of the size of the brush compared to the amount of leather I had to clean, it was a push. So I ended up going back to the sponge applicators & buffers. However that same sort of soft brush on the end of a drill would be great. I’ll let you know how I get on 🙂

If you are a professional get the drill brushes that attach to an electric drill. The longer ones have about 3.5 volts where your electric drill will have about 20 volts. 5 feet tall is plenty tall for most of the cleaning you will be doing.

This is the set I used: Drill Brush Power Scrubber Kit (Show in Today's Video) - amzn.to/3eyTQUM Note: Amazon may change out this page from time to time. The brushes are firm by the color of the brush. (If you buy a green brush they will all be safe on kitchen cupboards. The red from any of these vendors is to be used on fireplaces or brick.) The side of all of the boxes shows what surfaces to use the brushes on. (does that make sense?)

It's not just the strength required to use the cordless drill - it's just that in the middle of a job the battery often dies (it's easy to forget to charge it when you get home from a day of cleaning) and then you're stranded and back to using a hand held scrub brush. You are welcome to use whatever is easiest for you. I found personally we reduced our complaints about dead batteries completely when we switched from cordless to corded drills. No more "I can't finish the job" excuses.

Hi Tori, It's an interesting question and I don't know the answer. I would rather know what the buildup is so we can treat the build up rather than just scrubbing the floor. Is it a dirt or grime buildup or is it chemical? Is it a pre-wax job?

The good news is that no one is judging you. You can use the drill however you like if it is for your own personal use. If you have employees using power tools under your care, it would be advisable to have them wear personal protective equipment for liability reasons.

Will it work for cleaning inside the oven?
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
You can give it a try but I don't recommend it. The oven doesn't have a lot of space and to maneuver an electric drill you would have to sacrifice the proper positioning of your elbow which will put your arm in a weird position that will probably give you cramps. If you try it and it works let me know.

Hihi. Would water get into the corded drill brush and cause electricity leak or the drill to be rusty?
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
I guess if you immersed the drill in water that could happen. But for the most part it's like using a big electric toothbrush. The brush part is what is touching the wet or damp surface. The drill is just the handle and for the most part it never gets wet. The drills I use are covered in plastic with plastic handle grips and buttons. And the cord is coated in a weatherproof material to prevent shocking you if it gets wet. Great question. I've never had a problem with rust on my electric drill and I've been using mine for years.

Can i use this Drill + White Brush + Krudd Cutter to clean shower Glass with lots of hard hard water?
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
Technically yes, the white drill brush is designed for glass, but I don't recommend it. I made a video about hard water using an orbital buffer kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKm4fIirrNCUerc and the reason for the orbital buffer vs the drill is the way they are designed to be used. A drill is designed with forward moving power. Which means you have to have MEGA control over the drill when using it on a shower glass door otherwise you'll plunge right through the glass. I've known LOTS of professional house cleaners who have made this mistake in client's homes and they end up replacing the shower doors they've broken. Excellent question.

@AskAngelaBrown

Any time you use electricity there is a possibility (however remote) that you could get electrocuted. We aren't using any water when using the drill brush, and with situational awareness (paying attention to your cord) you should be fine. We've never had an electrical incident while using one.

Ok. The answer might be obvious, but why can’t you use a three-prong extension cord with a two-prong appliance plug and simply leave one of the homes empty? While we’re on it, what gauge should an extension cord be to safely use with a vacuum cleaner? Thanks!
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 3 жыл бұрын
Here in the USA, most of the electric drills have 3 prongs, the 2 prong extension cords don't fit. If it were the other way around, 2 prongs you could fit it into a 3 prong plug. Does that make sense? LOL. As for the vacuum cleaner, check the owners manual, it will give you directives about electrical wattage and what will and won't void the warranty. Every model is different.

Important warning: the official Drillbrush website FAQ recommends AGAINST using the Drillbrush with a corded drill instead of a cordless, for safety reasons. "Q: Can I use this drill brush in a corded drill? A: No, corded drills pose a shock hazard in the environments that our products are used in. Also they often lack the control needed to fully utilize our products."

Hello, so you don't risk yourself of electric shock using the cord one in bathroom?
@AskAngelaBrown

The cord is not submersed in any water. Most bathrooms are dry when using the corded drill. If by chance you are in a flooded bathroom you may want to rethink the cord - otherwise, just use your common sense. No one I've ever spoken to using the corded drill to clean bathrooms has been shocked by the electrical cord.

Sounds good in theory, but something doesn't add up. Glass is much harder than leather and wood cabinets, so why is the soft leather bristle brush recommended for glass, but a medium for wood cabinets? I would be hesitant to use the soft bristle on wood, much less medium bristle! Remember, the faster the rotation when rubbing an object, the greater the friction. I would be very concerned scratching wood or the poly layer of coating of wood cabinets.

It's true this drill is inexpensive - it's also lightweight and it's electric - I prefer this one because after using it for a few minutes with my arms over head (like in a shower or on tall cabinets) I don't have arm fatigue like I do when I use a cordless drill. The battery packs on the cordless drill are much heavier for women of my size. Not to mention that in the middle of a job at a client's house, if using a cordless drill and the battery charge goes dead - I'm back to using elbow grease instead of electric power.
