Ohhhh yeah!! I love those rings. I'm thinkin' I'll need more fingers to put them on once I make the first one. Julie, you rock girl!

Hi Judith! It's great to hear you like the rings. Instead of growing more fingers, you could create a schedule or calendar and make a ring for every day of the week, month, and year! It's ringtastic! You make me laugh! Keep creating!

@@JulieWeilbacher Your idea is so much easier than trying to grow more fingers. 🤣🤣🤣 And more fun!

I just watched another channel about making mosaic pendents and now you come out with the rings - maybe it's a sign, lol. Great ideas, the rings look great. Thx for sharing.

Hi LM! Thanks so much! It's great to hear you enjoy the rings. I'd like to think it's a sign that you found my video.....but I think it's more big brother!😂 Nevertheless, mosaic rings are so fun to make and can really switch things up in your mosaic making. Have fun with it! Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!

If I use more putty, wouldnt it fill in like grout when the pieces are pressed in? I was interested in epoxy sculpt because the grout process could be skipped. Thanks! I love all your videos!

I use apoxie sculpt and it fills in nicely. One step process

You must be so fun to hang out with…very funny! I love your rings! Now to get the epoxy sculpt..love your ideas but find myself taking a much longer time and being slightly awkward making those Xmas trees but I did it! Your experience really is so smooth and flawless! TFS ❤️😉

J.C.! I try to have fun and not take myself too seriously. 😂 First, I'm SO EXCITED to hear you made some peg Christmas trees!!! OMG! Can you tag me on Instagram so I can see them (instagram.com/julieweilbacher)? Pretty please?!? Second, the Apoxie Sculpt is so great. It's easy to use, not messy or stinky, and the cure is super solid. Love it! Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!

Hi Julie - yes I’ve made pendants, rings and earrings using apoxy sculpt. Great adhesive! I was fortunate to be given a heap of hand made glass beads ... broken in half in the making, but incredibly suitable for mosaic. They added both dimension and a touch of class to my designs. Love your videos - thanks!

Hi Carol! Great to hear you're enjoying my videos. WOW, lucky you getting those handmade beads! What a great way to reuse the glass. I can only imagine how beautiful and extra special your mosaic jewelry must be. Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!

Looks like you don't use much apoxie sculpt. Is this a situation where less is more?
@JulieWeilbacher Жыл бұрын
Hi Cynthia! You're correct. It's such a strong adhesive that you don't need as much. Great stuff! Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥

Hi Julie. Hey, I make pendants from broken crockery. I love them. In fact, I’m going to India in February to meet the other half of my work team. I’m taking mosaic pendants for the ladies on the team but I have NO IDEA what to make for the three men on the team. Do you have any ideas? They have to be small to travel with and I can’t spend a lot of money but I have a LOT of different supplies already. Anything you can think of would help.

Hi Summer! What a fun trip! And you're such a great co-worker for making them gifts. WOW! Ok so the ladies are covered, but for the men I have a couple ideas. First, a letter opener came to mind....snail mail is still a thing (I love it, actually!), but TSA may not let you bring something like that through. If you check your bag, then that's an option. You could also make a small (think: 2"x2" mini artist canvas board) mosaic with a equally small wood easel. They're adorable and hardly take up any room in your suitcase or sitting on display. A valet would be fun. Men like to keep their personal things together in one place too. Is there something or a theme from your line of work that you could adapt to mosaic?

Hey Julie! Love your videos, think I have seen every one! Love the rings! What do you use to spread the apoxie and where can I get it? Would you please make some jewerly, preferably pendants and earrings. And what about a broach ? And please use stained glass. Thanks so much! You have already helped me so much!
@JulieWeilbacher2 жыл бұрын
Hi Arlene! Thanks for watching and your kind words. I truly appreciate it! Great to hear you're enjoying my videos. To spread the apoxie I used a mini spoon or spatula. If you expand the description below the video you'll see a complete list of everything I used in the video. Look for 'dental picks' and the mini spoon/spatula comes in that set. It's super handy. In fact all of those tools are helpful in one mosaic project or another. Thanks for the future video suggestions...I've put your requests on the list! Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!🙌

Is the process the same for micro mosaics?
@JulieWeilbacher2 жыл бұрын
Hi Di Cooper! Traditional micro mosaics is much more involved. Often there's a wax 'grout' and some sanding or grinding of the surface. It's GORGEOUS...and talk about teeny tiny pieces.🔥 Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!

If the rings were left ungrouted, would they be sharp? Is there a way to make sure they're not?
@JulieWeilbacher2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer! You have a few options. You'll see in the video a few times that I turned the ring upside down on my work table and pushed it into the table. This helped to level out the materials -- providing the materials are shorter than the shaft of the substrate. Another option would be to grind down the tesserae on a lapidary grinder. Rather expensive. But yes, don't feel that you have to grout the rings. You have options! Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!🔥
