How to make Motion Sensor Switch using IR Proximity Sensor | CD4017 IC Projects

In this CD4017 project, I have shown how to make simple motion sensor switch using 4017 IC and E18-D80NK IR proximity sensor to automate the washroom light. You can also use this circuit as motion sensor alarm.

When anyone enters the washroom the IR proximity sensor senses the motion and turns on the light, and when he or she exits from the washroom the IR sensor again senses the motion and turns off the light automatically.
The range of the E18-D80NK IR sensor is very good, so it can easily detect motion to control the toilet light automatically. You can also adjust the range of this sensor.
During the CD4017 tutorial video, I shared the complete circuit for the 4017 ic project, so after watching the video, you can easily make this simple motion sensor switch project using CD4017 IC and use it as motion sensor light or motion sensor alarm.

4) 100uF 25V Capacitor
5) 1000uF 25V Capacitor
6) 220-ohm 0.25watt Resistors - 3 no

8) 10k 0.25watt Resistor

10) E18-D80NK IR proximity sensor

13) HLK-PM01 5V AC to DC converter

Please refer to the circuit diagram to connect the motion sensor with the AC appliance and switch. Please take proper safety precautions while working on 110V or 230V AC.

This design works for single person entering and exiting the room through the same door only. What if 2 or more people enters the room one after the other? What if there are 2 or more doors in the room through which people can enter and exit?

I also need your help urgently, I need to design a fully analogue circuit (no programmable components) that does this .As long as motion is detected within the specified time interval set by the timer, the countdown process continues to reset, and the bulb remains illuminated. Once no motion is detected for the entire duration of the countdown cycle, the timer’s output signal switches off, turning off the bulb.

sir, kindly respond. I tried to recreate the setup but when the first time the sensor generate a pulse, it turns on but it goes back to off state immediately when the sensor detects nothing. In simple words, the light turns on and remains in that state as long as the sensor detects something. How do i solve this? pls reply
