I wondered about this before. I thought it wouldn’t work because re-dipping the deckle would lift the pulp again. You revealed the key: lots and lots of pulp in the water! Beautiful results

You are so fun to watch. I made my first batch of paper yesterday. Most of the sheets worked perfectly, some not so much 😊. Do you have a video on how to stitch the bindings? That would be very helpful. Thank you

my homeschooled sons and I are going to be trying to make recycled paper so we can sell at a vendor fair this summer/fall. we are going to try dyeing our pulp with turmeric, wheat grass juice powder, laundry bluing, and maybe beet juice dye... they are excited to try this! they have a large box of junk mail saved and are adding to it all the time.

Hey Lisa! I’m an artist and am looking into making my own watercolor paper. Do you know how to make watercolor paper and if so could you make that one of your tutorials?

I am a watercolor artist as well. Watercolor paper has a chemical coating called, sizing. This keeps it from absorbing everything you put on it. Basically, painting on a sponge. I’m sure you know this. (Not trying to insinuate that you don’t. )For this reason, when stretching your paper or wet on wet, it’s extremely important not to over-saturate, SOAK. This will remove the sizing. Ruining your paper. I make 100% cotton paper the same as she does. When I paint I have to be careful not to add too much water. Literally, a drop goes a long way. I do paint wet on wet, just need to figure out the ratios. Every sheet is different. But it is beautiful. I love painting botanicals, birds, frogs, etc

i’m so inspired to make paper because of you! I was wondering if you could test the paper out on highlighters too? and if mixing lint, toilet paper and regular junk paper would make an okay journal? thank you so much!

Such a neat process! I know its been a bit since this video, but I was hoping to make some paper for some gifts (late gifts haha) I was wondering since you mentioned it can be added for color... Would adding white acrylic paint to the pulp help make the paper be whiter? If not, is regular chlorine bleach safe to use in the pulp? Would using chlorine bleach help breakdown the fibers if I cant use a blender? Also, do you have any 'homemade' style Sizing recommendations? I have seen some things about wheat starch- but are there any from-scratch-around-the-house type options that can be applied directly to the pulp if someone cant access 'professional' sizing options?

Hey lisa, i really like your videos so much, that they are inspiring me to atleast make one recycled paper, and i am gonna do that, but before that I have question- is possible to make print while recycling the paper, like you made a little heart at the corner on your colour changing paper video it got a lil bit bumpy and wasn't quite visible after drying, so do i have to use concentrated paint? If no, so what else i can do?

Hi Lisa. Love your videos! I was wondering if you also have experience with printing on these handmade paper. I’d love to design my own illustrations and print it on these cuties, but I don’t know if that’s realistic and what type of printer I should use. I’ve read about inkjet, but so far that’s all I got.

ik vroeg mij af of je echt elke soort papier kunt gebruiken. Ik heb bijvoorbeeld oude school boeken waarvan het papier een soort glans laag heeft/ een beetje als plastic voelt, kan ik dit gebruiken of beter vermijden.
