The idea to remove the color with the blade is good. It kind of makes the surface more used insted of the edges. I use soap to devide the colors and make them easy to separate. Thx for showing.

All the trim in our house was 4" brown stained wood & I've done this to almost all of it, a little at a time. It brightens everything up so much! Also, I've used a woodgrain paint tool on a few boards that didn't have much of a grain. The big barn door is next :)

Thanks. I’m new. Love your channel. God bless. I just tried this method on a new piece of wood. I think it must work better on a little older wood. I’ll try it next. I do like how the new turned out too.

Can you do a video, or do you have a video, on just how to make wood look old, like how it looks naturally….like when it turns gray, and sometimes it has reds or blues in it, naturally, or weathered, but not from paint. Like old fence posts that were never painted. This looks great. I love it.
@kimberlysiddons3 жыл бұрын
There is a technique I saw somewhere to do what you are looking for. It involves putting a piece of steel wool into vinegar until the steel wool completely dissolves. Then you paint it on your wood. I can’t remember where I saw this technique but I’m sure if you google it, you can find something. I remember the picture of the wood after it was painted with that concoction was grey and very old/distressed looking
@OurUpcycledLife3 жыл бұрын
I have not tried that technique but I have seem it done and it does give it a nice weathered natural look.

How did you attach the spindles? Glue, nails, screws??

I attached just with a strong wood glue! I am actually putting together a tutorial right now for these!

How much curing time would this process take in general on an average temperature day with low to no humidity? Also, do you sand again after applying paint and stain?
@OurUpcycledLife Жыл бұрын
It’s hard to say it Convery completely if you put it out in the sun or if you have it inside how long it will take to dry and you can send it as many times as you like until you get to the desired look

Hi if you wanted to do 2/3 different colours what would the process be please ? Many thanks
