Definitely a different look than the vinegar method. I think the wax looks more like an old used farm table would. Where the vinegar method looks more like it was left outside. I would love to see the whole table finished!

If You treated it with lye or whitelye You would Get a beautiful whitewashed look, in norway we use linseedsoap with cold water, (not hot) and wash it once a day for 4-5 days, or brown liquid soap and soap it in with a thick layer and let the soap soak in for a few days, and You will Get that greyish aged look.

I love the color of this table. Would it work to sand down a table and add this antiquing wax to remove the orange oak color, and then add some milk paint on top to give it a white washed look? Or would the milk paint not adhere to the wax?

after you did this antiquing wax and you let the whole table dry do you add a sealer or ????? to set the wax?

This video rocks! Put it together with Woody Hyezmar's concepts (google him) and you'll be spinning with awesome ideas!

Help! I used elmers wood putty to seal many holes, which is purple then turns to a natural brown. It says it is stainable and paintable. I painted it with mms milk paint in ironstone. And it's now purple again! I don't know what to do. It's been hours and still purple.

Margaret Burge Oh no! I've never tried painting over that particular brand of putty, so I'm not sure what's going on. It sounds like something in the milk paint activated the color again. I would suggest sealing those areas with some kind of poly and then reapply the milk paint.
