I recommend oatmilk to anyone looking for an alternative to regular cow's milk, it tastes amazing, fiber rich so you'll digest it way easier, and it actually has calcium aswell.
@AA-yc9dq Жыл бұрын
I was never the type to drink cow’s milk or plant milk by itself but oat milk alone tastes so amazing. It’s just perfect It’s the only plant milk that doesn’t ruin the taste of coffee, if anything it enhances it a little. I don’t mind almond milk but it’s awful with coffee.

Perfect for diet too

Where is the fiber left after the whole filtering process ? It’s all in the funnel and not in the milk 🥛
@AmandaLovesOldFords Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't recammend it as a milk substitute because it's not fortified. Manufactured milk-alternatives are fortified, but even then, most don't compare when it comes to protein content (except for soy).

Fibre has never helped me digest anything.

Another tips is using very cold water to blend in order to no get slimy oat milk.
@MTknitter22 Жыл бұрын
Thank you, I was gonna say that. It really helps! Also 1/2 c oats to 3 cups of water also works well. I strain twice if I am using it for tea or coffee.
@mattferrigno9750 Жыл бұрын
You just don't want to get it warm. By using the blender for too long your actually heating up the milk a little bit making it slimy.

Thanks 🎉

To those wondering what to do with the fibre, you can still use the leftover fibre in the sieve to make oatbread. Just add peanut butter and banana, mix and bake. You still be healthy and full and happy.😊
@f4llenstarr6 ай бұрын
so just peanut butter, banana and these oats left over - i can mush all this together and cook it? no eggs or flour?

@@f4llenstarr I make this recipe all the time, I just add some baking soda to get the fluff. But a denser one tastes just as well. Make it sweet as per your taste tho. 🌻 (Btw, oats is dense fibre food, so it is already grainy, thus requires no add-on flour for making oats bread)
@Romar-io Жыл бұрын
You can put your dry oats in the freezer for an hour and that'll also reduce the slime
@tracyd2320 Жыл бұрын
Oh thank you I was wondering if i could... 1..use iced cold water 2..soak it for about 10min first in fridge before blending but i did not think about your suggestion. Thank You
@richolus1563 Жыл бұрын
The reason store bought oat milk is not slimy is the enzyme beta-glucanase, which stops the beta-glucane in oats from becoming a slimy gel. They also add alpha-amylase to break down the starches to simpler sugars an make the oat milk "naturally" sweet and less starchy. I have tried some recipes like the one shown in the video and they have all turned out slimy after sitting in the fridge for some hours, the only way to prevent this was to add some enzymes.
@elevee Жыл бұрын
How much of each do you put in? Thinking of buying some of each
@VictoriaWatson10 ай бұрын
Papaya, bananas, kefir grains, and raw honey have enzymes that break down starches and can make it potentially less slimy and sweeter. If anyone tries them let me know if it works! 😊 papaya yogurt is really good but i wonder about milk 🤷🏻♀️

I feel like you'd benefit from putting the strainer ABOVE the bag, that way you can wring out the bag easier because the strainer catches the big solids.

If it's good for tea and coffee then it should be warmed.. but warming so make it like oats soup so it's meaning less... Just for drinking as cold is very disappointing. Because I'm looking for a replacement to milk for using in tea..
