How to Make Oatmeal Scotchies

This was such a well done video. Not busy on the eyes, no obnoxious music, so pleasing to follow and watch, and of course get hungry as heck! The backdrop of the white kitchen is really pleasing on the eyes. Also, your tempo was really great ... not too fast, not too slow, and filled with really good tips between steps. The fact that no mixer is required is such a huge plus for a clown like me. I had been searching for oatmeal raisin cookie recipes this morning on the internet when I came to the conclusion that I like butterscotch light years more than raisins, so why not go with oatmeal butterscotch cookies?!?! Just an idea! I really think the idea of using a mixer turns a lot of people away from making cookies, you might want to append your title with something like ' - no mixer required' or something. The fact that this video/recipe doesn't require a mixer is such a huge bonus. Thanks for this vid! I will try to update tonight with my first attempt at this.

Oats and cinnamon is ayurvedic diet. Very good. Details like that make a diifference. I will make these cookie and let you know how they come out in a few days they look tasty. My supermarket had chocolate chips on sale 3 bags for $5 so i have butterscotch chips. I usually add them to plain yogurt for a quick snack. Now i will bake them as per your recipe.

These were a huge hit in my house. I’m making them again this weekend. I’m hoping you will see this comment before I do so you can help me out with a small issue: Your dough looked a lot easier to mix with the oatmeal and chips. Mine was very tough. Did I do something wrong? (It won’t stop us from making them again and again! Ha)

Sam, everything I've using your recipes has turned out amazing! In fact, I don't even look for recipes anywhere else. I do have a question though. I've seen every cookie recipe (I think) but I have yet to find one from you on making old fashioned raisin cookies. If you have one, please send me the link. If you don't, can you PLEASE do one? My husband absolutely loves raisin cookies (not to be confused with raisin-filled cookies). Thanks so much!

How long will the dough last in the refrigerator? Can I make the dough and bake them the next day or so?

It will be good for about a week. Just make sure to keep it covered tightly. ☺

You may want to reduce some of the butterscotch chips and maybe start at a half a cup and see what it looks like. You don't want to completely overwhelm the dough. 😊

I honestly don't know. It's just taken from the word butterscotch. Someone probably didn't want to say "butterscotch oatmeal cookies" and just shortened it to scotchies? That's my best guess. :)
