# How to Make “Pentol Reog Ponorogo” | Indonesian Local Meatballs
Another easy-peasy recipe here …
It only uses such a ‘so so’ ingredients,
but with such a tasty result for sure.
This one is really good served warm with favorite chili sauce. This Ponorogo style Pentol Meatballs is one of the favorite snacks of all ages, from kids to teens then up to grannies.
Ingredient
The Main Ingredients
400 grams Tapioca Flour (Cassava starch).
* 300 grams Wheat Flour.
* 700 ml of Water.
* 2 tsp. Broth Powder.
* 2 tsp. of Salt.
Ingredient for the Ground Spices
9 cloves of Garlic.
* 1 tsp. Pepper.
* 50 ml of Water.
^^ Especially if you use a food chopper or blender, as to help it works properly.
Ingredients for the Dipping Batter
600 grams of Cake flour.
* 75 grams to 100 grams or about 5 to 7 tbsp. Tapioca flour
^^ The more the amount of Tapioca flour, then the chubbier the result of the Pentol will be, but please don’t add more than 500 grams, or it's will prone to be tough in texture.
* 1 sachet of Crispy Chicken Seasoning Flour, at about 75 to 100 grams.
* 3 Stalks of Scallions, finely chopped.
* 2 tsp. Royco (Broth powder).
* 1 teaspoon Salt.
* 1 tsp. Baking Powder.
* 1 Egg.
* Sufficient Water.
^^ The dose of the water is adjusted according to the measure of flour, until the dough is slightly runny, about 1200 to 1300 ml.
Ingredients for the Chili Sauce
1 bottle of tomato sauce, at about 600 grams.
^^ You may use ‘Rimba’ or Delmonte Brand.
* 150 grams cayenne pepper, suit your taste.
^^You can add more or less cayenne pepper.
* 9 cloves of Garlic.
* 1 teaspoon Salt.
* 1 tbsp. Sugar.
* 1 tsp. Broth Powder.
* 1 tbsp. Sesame oil, optional.
^^ You may skip it out, or replace it with regular cooking oil.
* 200 to 500 ml of water.
^^ This one is for the sauce mixture - add it up according to taste. The more the water, the thinner the chili texture.
* 100 ml of additional Water to blend Chili and Garlic, if using a blender or chopper.
Note
For another version which is still low in cost, we can fill the Pentol with 1 boiled quail egg.
For the luxury version, we can add around 200 grams to 500 grams of blended chicken fillets. If you add chicken, you don't need to reduce the flour composition, but you just need to adjust the amount of water and the savory spices (salt, pepper and flavoring).
