I think you can get basic soy sauce and some honey and then try to redo the same thing with those instead. It won't be as tasty but it will still have a tasty feel to it.

The cold oil on hot pan tip is amazing. Saw it in this video then tried it on my stainless steel pans and OMGs no sticking. It's little things like this that help me up my cooking game every day. Also, making this recipe tonight. Got everything but corn starch, some veggies and cooking wine.

Joe The Simple there is no ordinary fried rice. There are 2000+ ways to fry rice. It’s just different recipe. Assuming you’re American “ordinary fried rice” should be the chicken friend rice right? Search up 雞肉炒飯

Master chef John shines with the calmness he exudes. In his videos the food is in the foreground unlike in most other cooking shows where the cook takes center stage and waffles on and on. I not only watch John's beautifully made videos to become a better cook but also to calm down. My favorite Asian food channel by far. You deserve many more subscribers. _Perhaps one of the 652 dislikers can share with the rest what is it in this video that you didn't like. Personally I think you've lost your marbles._

I’m absolutely addicted to TASTE cooking videos. Just spend an 2 hours watching pretty much all your videos. Chef’s knife skills puts me at awe! That clever is heavy to use and he uses it effortlessly, always mesmerised. The teams dedication to produce the videos is definitely praiseworthy. He is working with a stainless steel cooker so he has to have the tape running from time to time it has been designed that way. If you look the tap is not running at one point on the video. I hope you are not thinking about becoming a chef

Amazing cooking chef John. I cannot wait to cook this masterpiece. I can not find mirin or shaoxing wine where I live so I use dry red wine with a pinch of salt for shaoxing wine and dry red wine with a pinch of salt and sugar for mirin.
