TIP - When you sieve the boiled trotters, SAVE the cooking liquid and likely a bit of the rinse, add the bones back to the liquid and simmer down. It retains so much goodness and collagen and makes the absolute BEST stock. (Add onion, garlic, or celery for flavour if you want). I do this with pork hocks.

There are a lot of these foods that used to be common snacks, anybody remember blind robins? They are basically shelf-stable smoked and salted herrings. Back in the day it was a common bar food. You could add pickled turkey gizzards, pickled eggs, and pickled sausage to the list too.

Thanks for the video Eric! I have pigs feet in my freezer now and this video has made up my mind how I'm going to do them. I love pickled pigs feet! I was eating them at a very young age beside my dad. Love em!

Eric, being from the south my dad and I used to eat jarred pickled pigs feet all the time when I was a kid and I really liked them! The other day I picked up a jar at my local grocery store to see what I've missed out on the last 50 years. Turns out ... not so much! Amazing how your taste bud can change as you get old! I won't hold this video against you! 😂

Great twist on pickled pig feet. I never had it the way you made it. It was always on the bone in a gallon mason jar but yours looked pretty tasty.

Beef tongue is good pickled too, great recipe Eric! Being a southerner I'm all to familiar with eating, making and experimenting with pig feet. They're still cheap enough where it doesn't break the bank.

Thank you for another interesting video. We have a similar dish in Poland called 'cold legs'. This is pig leg meat in natural jelly. I can't put links here, but if you enter 'zimne nozki' in search engine you will find photos and recipes in Polish that you can translate online. Hope it will be interesting for you.

Thank you for the great video! In Bulgaria,we always use a horse radish in that case!More flavor plus extra preserver for longer shelf life, especially if you boil the jar for about 30 min.

Hi! Jane here. I like pigs feet, although it is hard to eat around all those toe bones. I think I would cook the feet without the vinegar, just making a broth. Then I would shred the meat and pack it into a bread pan, pour the broth over the meat, and let it gel. Now I would have pressed pork luncheon meat. Delicious!

Love this channel 🥰 just bought a sausage stuffer and made wild garlic sausages 😋 May I ask if you do anything with the pig skin, here in England we have a snack called pork scratchings, and I wondered if you made them and would consider doing a video on making them. 🤗

I've got to say, I eat just about everything, I'm a big fan of offal too. But! I've only ever used pigs' feet to add collagen to force meats and such. Not sure I'd like my first time eating them to be in their pickled form! I am intrigued, though!😂

Hey Eric! Since you ventured into pickling pigs feet, how about pig ears, tails……. and chitterlings. I just thought of something. With this recipe using the pig feet, then using pork neck bones and pig ears, same technique you’d use making a hogs head cheese. Instead of using a hog head. Sorry Eric🥴 I went back and I saw your video on hogs head cheese. You had pigs feet in there. Probably where I got the idea. Sorry

I prefer them less cooked, and just add that vinaigrette for a few hours. And for me it is a big no-no to throw away all that pig broth: I would use it to prepare the vinaigrette. Now that I think of it, the last time I taste those trotters was a long time ago...

Stop what; Eating pickled pigs feet? Seriously what does ethnicity or skin color have to do with eating pigs feet? That is like saying that only Irish can drink Guinness, Jewish people from Poland can eat Bagels, Italians Pizza, Mexican’s Tacos etc, etc.
