Hi everyone! It's been a while. I uploaded a follow up video to this one, but this time, I tried Biore's Charcoal Pore Strips (and no, I'm still not sponsored!). You can watch it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5rdgnd_Ys2KY9k I also linked it in my description box! I tried to be much clearer in my explanation and I also changed up my process, so make sure to check it out! There's also some satisfying peel porn and close-up shots once again LOL. 😂 Thank you so much for watching!

Michelle Kanemitsu a little tips is that you should use some pore tightening seruma after because If you do this regularly your pores will only get bigger every time and blackheads will come back more often

Thehispanic gringa: not all of that residue is blackheads, chances are most of those are naturally occurring sebaceous filaments the skin produces as a protective measure . That's why they will keep coming back no matter how many times they are ripped out or removed via other means.

Pro tip: I always use a wet wash cloth right after applying the pore strip. I lightly press it onto the strip to make it a bit more moist. This makes it even easier to mold the strip to the contours of your nose etc. Wait until completely dry before peeling it off. In my experience, the strip then takes out 2 times as much gunk from my nose.

Hey everyone! Thank you all for watching and for all of your great comments. Just wanted to clarify that this method is not to be done daily, and it may not work for everyone. This is just what I found works for ME. Remember to be cautious when trying it for the first time, and if something doesn't feel right, stop whatever you're doing and do not ignore it! You know your skin better than anyone else. But of course, another option is to just see a dermatologist and hopefully they will be able to help you. Some people have also recommended using an apple cider vinegar toner after removing the strip since this should rebalance your skin's pH levels. Also, make sure you don't leave your faucet running like I did. ;) Another water saving tip is when removing the residue that the strip may have left on your face after peeling it off, wipe your face with a damp paper towel instead of splashing your face with water. Keep in mind that I'm not a dermatologist/doctor of any kind. I'm a plain girl who simply wanted to share her findings with others. Good luck and I sincerely hope it works for you! :)

Michelle Kanemitsu part of the reason you get lots of blackheads is cause you (not to be mean) have really big pores so you should try a cream that makes your pores smaller and see what happens cause when you clean them out they will get bigger and bigger cause of all the pulling you are doing at them which will create bigger blackheads

You actually shouldn't use these at all. The reason why these things don't work for most people is because they aren't blackheads. Those are not supposed to be removed. Those are sebaceous filaments, which occur naturally and will continue to come back when/if somehow pulled out/removed. It actually hurts the skin when you remove them. Pore strips are a gimmick people buy into, they don't work and they shouldn't.

Sidney Cope That's why she used the baking soda so that the white/blackheads would stick out a little more. Toothpaste mixed with baking soda and bit of water to make a paste also works to get blackheads out. you just use a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub the mixture onto your nose for about 30-45 seconds. Then wipe away blackheads with a warm wet washcloth. Baking soda does wonders.

My son (17) has been battling cyst acne for years. He goes to dermatologist regularly and was recently put acutane. He has tried it all. Being his mom I didn't want him to suffer with acne like I did. He current face care include Lush dark angels cleanser, pure organic honey, and a toner with his prescription. Once a week we use something' similar to strips: charcoal masks. Finally results are occurring. His back and chest are clear and his face has fewer breakouts. Keep up the work on the channel, remember guys need advice also...

I totally understand his pain. I've had acne since I was 10 (I'm 21 now), and I recently started to develop cystic acne about 3 years ago. I'm glad he found a solution! I might try that out myself. I'm seeing a dermatologist right now, but the results are a little lacking. I'm planning to do more videos about acne and skincare, and they'll definitely be for anyone, not just females. :)

AlyArt Acne is a pain. My acne used to be so bad that it literally hurt to touch the lower half of my face because of how many pimples i had. I did go to the dermatologist and was put on tretinoin, and got laser treatments to get rid of scarring, but what really helped me clear up my face was cutting out milk and other dairy products. Don't get me wrong, i still eat cheese and yogurt every now and then but cutting out dairy has helped my acne immensely. I don't know if this would help your son or not, but I just wanted to share what helped me with my acne because i know how painful and Annoying it can be.
@dhp7799
@dhp7799 8 жыл бұрын
My son did use Tretinoin for a treatment for a while, but the effect was minimal. For the scarring he uses a fade cream and lemon juice. He used this on his surgery scars on his arm. We try not to use too much of anything since he is on acutane. This is his last month of treatment and only side effects have been dry lips. It was his last resort. He eats a good diet, little to no fried foods, limits tomato sauces. Dairy is not big for him as he is lactose intolerant. He really wanted his acne gone so he tried everything including diet, exercise and every OC treatment. Acne is painful not only on the outside but inside. Parents need to know how truly painful it can be mentally on a teenager. Teenagers do not have to suffer as there are so many treatments, unfortunately most are doctors prescribed. As a parent who suffered, I made sure son did see a doctor about his acne. Yes it does cost$,but we buy super expensive coffees and other things, put that money aside and get to the dermatologist. It will be money well spent.

AlyArt Hey Aly! I would take a look at his diet as well. Greasy foods, sugary foods, etc. are one of the major causes of cystic acne. Have him eat clean foods like grilled chicken and leafy greens for a week or two and see if it makes a difference. I know it helps my breakouts disappear!

Katrina Moss I have experienced the same. I had 3 blackheads get increasingly worse over the course of 3-4 weeks. They never surfaced for extraction. I didn't know what to do until I did research and used the techniques I thought would work best for me. What worked: 1 used of bentonite clay (follow directions), next day- cleanse/exfoliate, later that night, toothpaste on affected area (20mins), lay a hot towel over your face (as warm as you can take it) then extract blackheads/ whiteheads by pinching contents out or using Biore nose/ face strips. after every wash I used 1part water and 1 part apple cider vinegar as my toner. This process worked perfectly for me.

If your blackheads are worse than hers, you may be experiencing an extreme in your skin's natural moisturizer. When our skin is on the extreme end of either hydration or dehydration, it will react in a crazy way. Congestion, over production of sebum or under production of sebum, dark spots or more will show up and youve got to balance it. I would also advise you take a look into your cleanser, moisturizer and makeup. Some, if not all, of these items you use may not be non comedogenic. This will surely clog your skin and create an excess of black heads and clogged pores. If you want to take the steps necessary for unclogging your skin, this video only gives you 1 of many steps you'll have to follow before this. 1. Save up $50-$100 and purchase a groupon deal for customized deep cleansing facials. WHILE SAVING: 2. use african black soap (the bar can be bought online) to wash your face with. Followed by a natural toner of either ACV or Tea tree oil. Mix with a bit of water and apply like a toner. 3. Steam your face at least twice a week after washing and then apply freeman's sweet tea and lemon mask all over face. After you pull off the mask, rinse with warm water, apply toner and follow with natural moisturizer. 4. Use trader joes (providing youre near one) moisturizer with SPF 15. This is a non clogging natural unscented moisturizer, non greasy, non oily. Apply this during the day. At night, after washing face, apply castor oil (a non clogging oil) or a mix of castor and jojoba oil 5. To help balance / normalize your skin's hydration use: 1. moroccan red clay or european green clay for a mask once a week. NOW is a great affordable brand. I paid $8 each. and 2. a hydrating sheet mask at least once a week. Lather rinse repeat! Whenever doing a new routine, changes usually show results within 3-6 weeks. I hope this helps? It has helped me too especially in between my facial appointments. Everything I shared with you, is from my personal experience and i am pleased with my results. I ran my ideas by the lady who does my facials and she guided my along the way with the best oils to use and more. Our faces are our calling cards, so I totally understand the desire to have a blackhead free face! :) xo

Great Video! I usually use the stripes after shower because in this moment the pores are more opened. I have a big problem with black/white heads and the stripes helps me a lot.I live in Japan and here the Biore`s one is the best by far. I used Baking soda and Cider vinegar before but did not notice any change.

I was watching a tube about using baking soda to wash hair and learned the skin likes a slightly acidic state (baking soda is a base) you may wish to use diluted apple cider vinegar to condition he skin. I think they mentioned something about the dryness/greasiness depending on the pH of the scalp and skin. I am not a chemist or molecular biologist so please research for yourself and do not take my word for it.

Sean Clough you're right. skin is slightly acidic and using something basic like baking soda or toothpaste damages the skins protective layer

Try using cotton pad with purified water or just any water. put it on ur nose for approx 5-15 minutes (keep it wet) and apply the nose strip. The theory is that the cells will take in water via osmosis and will hence be enlarged. This will sort of squeeze out the sebum from within. The water should, also, soften the sebum (not confirmed). this should work just as well but without applying harmful alkaline substance that will potentially disrupt ur skin's natural pH level.

I'm worried about the pores on your face. Prolonged use of these strips could enlarge your pores permanently. I think you would get better results from an acid toner, probably a salicylic based toner. The strips are temporarily satisfying but definitely no good for your skin. Pore strips can strip off the top layer of your skin which is NOT good! The glue on the pore strips binds to your skin when moistened. As it dries up, in a few minutes, it grips on to the dirt and comedones on your skin. This is pulled out by swiftly ripping away the strip from your skin. This action also unclogs the pores. In fact, the ripping movement leaves your pores open and more vulnerable for bacteria and germs to settle down, leading to buildup and subsequently, breakouts in the form of blackheads and whiteheads. Some users of these strips have also reported enlargement of skin pores. This makes your skin more susceptible to clogging up again, because the open pores do not shrink back. This can really damage the skin by permanently rupturing it. Also, excessive use of pore strips can leave you with a mild skin burn if they happen to also remove the top dermal layer, because the skin on your nose is very delicate. Additionally, it robs the skin of its essential oils, prompting it to produce more oil. So, really, really, recommend avoiding pore strips. They can be very satisfying in the short term but they won't do you any good at all. Avoid!

Best advice I can give to people with acne, black heads, etc. Is, avoid drinking high fructose/corn syrup (in beverages) and replace them with water. Water is what dilutes the grease coming from your pores.

Baking soda is very alkaline and completely destroys the skins natural pH (~5) which is a crucial part of the body's defence against bacteria. You can seriously mess up you skin quite badly by putting very alkaline (such as baking soda) or very acidic (such as lemon juice) directly on your skin. You can of course do whatever you want, but don't put random things on your face just because someone (or many people) online told you to. The girl in this video seems really sweet and I'm sure she means no harm, but please be careful. Xo
