Hi Jagdish, you can look after primroses planted in the soil the same as in pots! Moist but free draining soil, cool temperatures, dappled shade etc. 😊

I have 3 pots of primrose indoors, planted them as seeds a year & a half ago & have nt seen a single flower 😔 Nice leaves but no flowers yet !!

They'll come! Primroses grown from seed normally flower in the 2 or 3rd year you can also feed them a fertiliser rich in potassium that should encourage flower development 🙂 good luck!

Are prims from grocery meant to be planted? I have trouble with yellow droopy leaves. I have to water two to three days before they droop. How do we start prims?

Hi Terry, if the primroses are small plug plants then they should be planted out into larger containers or the open soil. Potted prims from supermarkets can either stay in their pots or can be planted out. The yellow leaves are a sign of stress so could be the plant is too big for its pot and would benefit from being newly planted either in a larger pot, container or open soil or it has problems with its roots. As for the drooping, that's a common sign of dehydration, prims like a lot of water. All plants also dry out quicker in pots than in the open soil so if you don't have the time to water often maybe planting them out is a good idea for you. As for starting prims I'm doing a video soon on dividing primulas so you get more plants for free! You can also grow from seed but I've never done that before so can't help there I'm afraid. Do they need room to grow or should they be kept mushed in a smaller pot?

The primroses will definitely grow better if they are potted on into a larger at some point, this will stop them getting pot bound. You can also divide primroses very easily as they grow in clumps and they multiply fairly quickly. You can either separate the plants with your hands by pulling them apart or you can use a sharp sterilised knife. Best done in late summer to autumn and the new plants can be potted up into good mpc or planted out. 🙏

May I PLEASE, please- PRET-TY PLEASE.. ..know the name of that plant you placed the white primrose next to on your windowsill? I'm trying to find THAT plant. I found one, similar trunk looking but the leaves and stems were NOT the same as this and it was 😱$34.99🤯 for ONE. PLANT. ..a 3/4 of the way, DEAD plant. The leaves & stems were CLEARLY struggling to live in the "Lowes" conditions! I felt soooo bad and attempted to propagate one from a stem I tore off but it wasn't healthy enough to continue- it only sprouted roots then died! I was sooo disappointed! I want to find this plant sooo bad!

Hi I think you mean the UFO plant, Pilea peperomioides? I've heard that in certain places they're hard to find and stupid expensive 😕 hope you find one that's healthy and cheap! 💚
