You can dip the ends of the piping cord in hot candle wax to stop the threads coming loose. 😊 You can also warm the wax afterwards and squeeze it around the wire to stop it fom moving a bit. I switched 0.8/1mm to 2 wires of 0.5. It also keeps flexibility.

Hiya. Nice video. Soldering the cable to the WBT isn’t necessary and adds another metal in the signal path which affects sound quality. That’s why the plugs come with screws. I know many Hifi geniuses think this way also(Tom Evans being just one). Cheers

One small point. The CSA of 0.4ml wire is 0.13mm2. The CSA of 0.8ml wire is 0.5mm2. O.6mm wire would give a CSA of 0.28mm2 and may be the sweet spot as no twisting needed!

You say don't use brass RCA plugs but use a copper alloy. I'm pretty sure that brass is an alloy of copper and zinc along with some trace metals. Besides that it is a nice guide and helpful.
@tweakerman9 ай бұрын
Copper alloy has a higher content of copper than brass does, that's why I say don't use brass, remembering that when we get to the best, every little help, but pure silver rca plugs are even better for this application, thanks for commenting & watching 👍

How did you arrive at the combination of cable and construction? Would like to see/hear some comparisons.
@tweakerman6 ай бұрын
Hello, I make lots & lots of designs, & just listen to them, that's how I work out what sounds the best to me, I never measure cables, because two cables can measure the same, but sound totally different I'm a geek, that's me😊 There's no point in doing sound clips on KZbin, because KZbin will seriously compress the sound and you won't notice the difference, I hope this is helpful. Thanks for commenting & watching 👍
@kennym58986 ай бұрын
@@tweakerman Thank you. Yes, I appreciate the fact of sound quality on KZbin being dire. Wishful thinking really. My main enjoyment and interest is music. However, I'm always interested in stuff like this if it can genuinely enhance that enjoyment. Keep up the good work. 🙉 😄

hello and thanks for sharing. Only a question : in this version you don't using shielding like older versions? Thanks again
@tweakerman9 ай бұрын
Hello, this cable is an unshielded design, but still has some shielding properties, because the conductors are twisted, twisting conductors help's to reject RFI. This unshielded design sounds extremely open, with a wonderful soundstage & imaging, only found in truly hi-end cables, but it can only be used for cd players, dac's & music streamers. These cables cannot be used on a turntable or phono preamp, I hope this helps, thanks for commenting & watching 👍

You can make your own continuous cast silver or copper very easy take that silver off the spool hit it with a blow torch this till it's red hot cherry red don't go any hotter than that and then quickly dump it in some water then you'll get your continuous cask crystal. and it'll make the silver softer the same with copper that's how it's done. Ideally put a bit of shrink wrap on the positive and terminal and cover the whole positive wire with copper tape and around the negative making sure you don't have any contact with the positive, this will prevent EMI getting up the cables
