It is possible to do this with glue, providing the glue has a high initial tack like UHU.
@AndrewLittleboy16 күн бұрын
I feel epoxy is a mistake. Hot glue is the preferred method and can easily be removed if required.
@tweakerman6 күн бұрын
Hi Andrew, I've used epoxy, loads of time & it's more permanent than hot melt glue, but can still be removed easily 👍

hi... great job with the buffer. i have similar pcb type from china. i replaced the 0.22 uf caps with russian polystrine caps k71-7. the 2 pc 2.2 uf caps i bypassed them with ft-3 teflon caps again russian. they were quite cheap. the sound is very detailed airy...smooth. its like live in your room.

Try Silversmith FIDELIUM CABLES. I was able to borrow a pair cause I couldn’t afford them. They make a beautiful sound.

Thanks very much Ian! Sound reasoning behind this build to create inert stands which decouple the loudspeakers both from the stands themselves and from the floor. Nice one! All the best, Rob in Switzerland

What’s your take on silver plated wall sockets like MS HD? Thanks
@tweakerman10 күн бұрын
Hi, I've never tried them, but Silver is the best conductor of electricity,, I'm sure they would be good👍
@BoredSilly6669 күн бұрын
@@tweakerman I bought a HD Silver to try it. It has improved the detail and definition of the sound. An overall cleaner sound. Bass is tighter and a bit more tone. The highs were improved and more noticeable with more sparkle. Noises like the high hat and symbol beats were more realistic and the mids and vocals improved. Ive tried speaker cables, interconnects, fuses, better usb cables for my streamer and linear power supplies all giving noticeable improvements and the same with this Silver plated double socket. Its not a huge massive, oh my god improvement but when you listen a lot to a lot of music you can clearly hear the gains. Naim Amp, Qutest Dac and PMC 24 speakers with Furutech Alpha FS-a36 speaker cables

Hello Ian always enjoy seeing those Audio note Kaisi caps getting implemented however as your friend I would recommend using Anti acoustic caulking under each capacitor to help dampn the micro vibration s
@tweakerman12 күн бұрын
Hi, yes, Anti acoustic caulking is an excellent suggestion, I've been leaning that way for a while now 👍

@@tweakerman ya Ian it's a bit messy but I have done this to my Elna Cerephyn caps and Audio note Kaisi caps I used in my Nakamichi CDP 2A... it's sounds so good and I used rubber matting to dampen the inside lid and used a piece to zip tie around the transformer ...put some Nichicons KG bipolar s in the power supply and I'm extatic lol ... running JM Lab Micron Carat s. with Nakamichi TA3A and Nakamichi RE 1 bi amping

The boards are a part of my uncles quad 405 he sent to lucid design & they converted it, but not very good, that's why I'm upgrading it, thanks for commenting & watching 👍

So please may l ask are the snap in type capacitors normally just a press fit in the pcb? I ask this as l have never used this type before.

Hello, they fit just like a lead out capacitor, but in the place I needed them to fit, they needed to be converted, thanks for commenting & watching 👍

Hello from Portugal. Do you think they originally have too much padding foam? Its a good ideia replace to more thin foam for more bass expansion, or not? All the best.
