Yes, you are right! I made two 4 patch blocks and sew them right side together ☺️ it's the same method as 4 at a time Half Square Triangles blocks

To save this short video just hit like on this video (thumbs up button), click "libray" on the right bottom corner of your screen and then click on "liked videos" (you'll see all your liked videos). To save the short video click the three dots on the right, and tap save to watch later or save to playlist to save the short video to an existing playlist or you also can create a new playlist, and click done! Yes, they are 5" squares. This technique works with whatever size starting squares you want. My latest quilt pattern, the Perseids quilt, includes a cutting board with different initial sizes and what size QSTs you get

I am making 4 at a time quarter square triangles (QSTS) blocks. I'm using the same 4 at a time half square triangles (HST) method but starting with (2) four patch blocks instead of two equal squares

@@alexandrabordallostudio so typically first I have seen around the square then did cut the triangles. Does it make a difference to do before or after ie the sewing around the edges

The edges end up making the center seam on each of pieces that folds open into the 4-triangle squares
