Don't know how often you make these but a suggestion that could make life easier, print it with say 2 12mm holes in the back, you could then use these to attach to a heavy base stand with 2 dowels when wrapping to make it easier and the holes would also give you something to hold onto/pull on when releasing from the vacform

BEAUTIFUL! How do you calculate the thickness of the mold so that you can get an almost "exact" fit to the intended model's fuselage for the end result? I have no idea, but would like to eventually get the same result as you so rightly done! Thanks for making these tutorials for your viewers. New sub here.

I'm in the process building an old aircraft and need a canopy. I made a mockup balsa model of the canopy and planned on using large soda bottles to heat shrink down to the right shape using the balsa model. Unfortunately, the canopy is larger than a large soda bottle so I have to make it in two halves. After watching your video, I'm curious if I can do the same thing with the balsa canopy model. What is the material you are heat shrinking on the 3d printer model and can that be applied to a balsa canopy model? Also, what is the material you used to make the final canopy?

Hello. The 3D printed model is covered with a 3M 3D vinyl sticker. I used PETG 0.5mm polycarbonate to make the canopy.
