Thats because they are basically real trees. Everything they are made with is real plant lol.

Without a doubt this is the the most realistic method I've come across. I learned the nigh-perfect Canyon Creek method for creating ultra realistic pines, and this actually produced better results. Well done.

@byrnespeed5 жыл бұрын
Very Nice video. I use Asparagus Ferns as well for my military diorama. Nothing beats that to simulate pine trees. I find it funny those who cut foam that's probably more expensive than the plant itself. And the regroth rate if well nourished is a fast healing fern. I was wondering why do you use TS propellant cans instead of your airbrush to modulate the colors of your ferns. Can cost vs 17ml Vallejo or AMMO or Tamiya acrylic bottles??? Can you clarify on this please??
@Paepercuts5 жыл бұрын
Good question, i did a lot of experimenting before i decided to go with this method. When the plants come out of the glycerin, they are slightly oily and have a waxed feel to them. I decided to go with spraycans because this has a much better grip and really bites into the surface, as opposed to acrylics. It also strengthens the leaves much better. I often go over the surface with the airbrush to shade them, but only after i added a layer of spraypaint. It acts as a buffer for the acrylics to attach onto. I have done it a few times with acrylic ink straight over the preserved plants, but i found they dry out more and change color/ yellow more over the course of months, depending on warm weather. I use Tamiya because i was unable to find a solid Matt color spraypaint in cheap brands in my country, all of them were gloss green for some reason. Hope that helps good luck with your dio's, cheers!

Does the absorbed glycerin help keep it from molding? Or will it eventually yellow and mold? Thank you for the wonderful video!!!!!
@Paepercuts Жыл бұрын
The point is that the glycerine replaces the water, the water evaporates. It won't mold unless there is still water in the leaves when you spraypaint them, give them a few days to dry first. The leaves will yellow but that is where the spraypaint comes in. It takes some experimenting but the results are well worth it imo, the same batch of trees still stands today in my cabinet. Cheers and have fun!

Heel mooi en makkelijker te bewerken dan een boom van ijzerdraad. Waarom bewerk je de top met plamuur en tegelpoeder?
@Paepercuts2 жыл бұрын
De plamuur gebruik ik om gaten op te vullen, het voegmiddel om een fijne textuur aan te brengen zodat het wat beter 'blend' met de textuur van de boomschors. Bedankt voor het kijken!
