I have tried for the last 2 years to grow seafoam and they have never got more than 1" tall. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I start in the first of April. They jump up but never get anywhere.

Did you make these for a client? Possibly a themed event used as guest tables centerpieces? This is my very first video, and I am amazed at the detail and how much fun it would be to make these. I'm an event supplier and this is amazing. Where are you getting your materials from? Meaning the paints and such.

How durable are these? The longevity?
@PaepercutsАй бұрын
I still have these same pines I made at the time, I believe it was 2017. Working with these natural products is not always a guaranteed same outcome, like with static grass or flock. Preserving them properly is something you learn by experience. For display purposes I've had good results so far though, not well suited for the wargaming table I am afraid. Cheers!

Hi there. At the moment I don't sell any of my work, I gave this diorama away for a school project at the time. Thanks for your interest and for watching!

Geweldig!

Fine slate rock scatter if you can find it ( old Games Workshop used to sell it ). Or some course ballast from railroad scenery companies even. Good luck and have fun!

What brand do you prefer van gogh or rembrandt? not only for washes but for general miniature painting.
@Paepercuts6 ай бұрын
Hi there! If I was to choose between those, I'd say Rembrandt. It has a bit finer pigments so it will be less grainy and smoother to blend. I personally like to use Schmincke Mussini for miniature painting in recent years though. It is more expensive but the pigment value is really good and fine. Especially the ones I use most often like Van Dyke Brown or Raw/ Burnt Umber. I still use my good old Van Goghs and Rembrandts, but mainly for terrain washes. Good luck!

How long does it take seafoam to start getting large. i planted some seeds in early May and the plants are still below 2 inches. I have two starting to mult-divide but no leaves like you show at 4:58. Any suggestions. The plants are outside on the carport and I set them in the sun late in the day. I keep the Miracle Grow potting soil moist.

Hey there! Great to hear you are giving it a try, don't give up! It is a bit difficult for me to judge but I'd say give it more time, or plant another batch and place them in different locations in terms of light and warmth. You may want to try give them some liquid plant food as a booster. I did it once and it strengthened them it seemed, just to give them some extra nutrients. Other than that warmth and light is what they need. They will grow like tumbleweeds so don't expect them to develop many roots. I hope you'll have success thanks for sharing your experience and good luck!

Hello, new to the hobby and of course new subscriber! I am following as much as I can your video, using and old Lindberg JP Trex I had from the 90's. I am up to the point were you apply satin varnish. My question is why is the wash required (never applied one so far)? Sorry, but I can't exactly tell from the before and after. Also I don't seem to find the Transparent Umber ink in my countr...any other alternatives? Thanks a lot for your videos!
@Paepercuts7 ай бұрын
Hi there! Happy to hear you enjoy the hobby, those Lindberg models are really nostalgic and cool. Washes are most effective if the model has a lot of deep recesses, this T-rex model was pretty smooth so it didn't stick very well. It more or less darkens the model as a filter otherwise. As an alternative you could always use an acrylic dark brown wash like the ones from Games Workshop, or use another brand of ink ( I'd recommend Schmincke or Daler Rowney FW ) Have fun and cheers for watching!
