Assume u found the answer by now but for anyone else seeing this~yes you def gotta seal ur canvas (or any other porous surface like wood) b4 using resin on it! I've seen ppl use everything from a quick coat of Killz primer, any spray or liquid varnish (like Liquitex), Modge Podge or bet even a coat of glue would work! You just wanna make sure whatever you use to seal your surface is totally dry b4 using resin! Sorry for the book lol, but hope that helps!😊

Hi sherry, thanks a lot for your very informative videos. Quick question - after doing the glitter lines I like to top coat the geode. But my resin layer below has cured over 4 days(as I was busy with other things) and because of the lines I can't sand it now. Will a top coat still hold tight?

You could still lightly get rough up surfaces with fine grit sand paper. It does have to be a full sand back but just some to give more texture for the resin to grip to
