Doubling the fabric and using a rotary cutter would make it easier and faster to cut out. I can't remember the last time I bought paper towels. Great idea!

I love your idea!! I have my Grandma's sewing machine that I grew up with. Those would make great house warming gifts. Or just because gifts. Put together with some all natural cleaners in a bucket. Thank you 😊 💓

Great ideas Jessica. The only time I use paper towels is for somethng really messy, such as spilled spaghetti sauce or window washing. I keep a large supply of terry towls in varying sizes and use them until they become dust cloths. Thanks for sharing. Love your channel

This is just the way it used to be. Mum had different colours or patterns for different functions and even Dad’s shed greasy ones got washed after soaking in something for a while. They were mostly our old clothes or dad’s singlets. My brother and I would get a flogging if we used one for the wrong reason, so we leaned the system quickly. They would be used ‘till they were threadbare and then used as something else like stuffing for a pillow.

The only real reason I use paper towels for is for greasy messes. I don't eat a lot of meat but occasionally and many times the pans are greasy after cooking. I drain as much as I can into garbage but there is usually a bit that needs to be wiped out. How do others handle greasy messes without paper towels?

I use an airfryer and am vegan. I haven't fried anything in oil is 6 years. Unless you are using a cast iron skillet, I would use dawn dish liquid and hot water or a dryer sheet. The dryer sheet pulls the oil out. 💚

This is a great question and one that I still use a paper towel for because I mostly use cast iron. I’d love some suggestions on this too. 😊

@@elaine1962 I don't use dryer sheets as I can't tolerate the toxic fragrance oils they use. Us no longer use a dryer as it uses too much electricity. I try to keep my carbon foot print small as well as eliminate using toxic chemicals.
