It's same black gel I used, when mixed with water, it gave grey color. I didn't apply anything on edges. Resulted color is based on how you spread it on hydrated paper sail. Watch those video part where I brush those colors on sail, you will understand it.

I have noticed some comments on rice paper cake decoration videos that it's melting after decorating on cake and also rice paper is not set properly.. do u have any clue? What could be the reason?

If you press rice paper too much down to a cake, it can cause the paper go moist again and ink to run, if cake has much water content. I recommend to place rice paper on cake just before the use. Also you can use tooth picks to attach rice paper to cake which I very well explained in another rice sail paper tutorial. Please find the link to that video in description.

You can add sugar or any essences while rehydrating sail paper, but after dried it is not that tasty. If you use it for rolls before drying, you can try that.

Это тоже работает. Но рисовая бумага не может иметь форму вафельной бумаги и не будет такой гибкой, если вы просто почистите водку. Спасибо

Yes both are using same Rice paper sail. For spring roll, you first hydrate it the same way shown in video(not with colors) and then wrap the ingredients. If you don't eat spring rolls right away after making, it may dry out.
