Use steel tubes instead of just a steel bar and these with empty the air in tires instead of just puncturing them.

how about electrifying a door handle with 220v and a hidden I/O switch, its a fun build and has many uses i.e. to keep crackheads from trying your storage unit perhaps in an apartment setting

I would recommend using steel brake line since it is hollow and we'll let the air out extremely fast less likely for the spike to stay in and just plug the hole

Love the video, also helpful suggestion, if you make those out of pipes instead of solid rod it will let the air out through the hole

you loose a lot of structural integrity, or would have to invest in a stronger metal

I think a hollow tube would make the bending and welding more difficult.

best to use a thick walled hollow pipe (maybe 6-7mm or so in OD) because a rod will puncture but will also plug up the hole (even if the spike is launched from the tire at speed) A hollow spike will deflate the effected tire in about 15-25 seconds...which should be enough to get rid of the following assailant effectively... If you can not find steel tubing in a smaller OD then at the very least use a larger OD rod (maybe 8mm) and slice a groove down it to make sure the rod will pierce and allow air to escape past it...

2 things. If you're going to use a cut off wheel to form the point, why not just mark the entire rod to the desired lengths and cut the pieces off, one by one, at an angle. That would eliminate the entire bolt cutter step. Secondly, if you bend the pieces closer to 70 degrees, instead of 90 degrees, the points would sit vertically.

@FMJPatriot AZ X RINGER's comment is spot on - just cut the rod on an angle with the cut-off wheel in the first place instead of this double-handling bollocks.

@yc6683 If you use large nails, just cut at an angle with bolt cutters. They don't need to be super strong so nails are perfect.

@davejalenderki
@davejalenderki 6 ай бұрын
@@Anon-te6uq I was thinking caltrops. Illegal to buy. Illegal to own. Very easy to make. Excellent for perimeter safety. Extremely painful when stepped on. Very efficient at rapid deflation of tires. Can be built from almost anything. When connected with a small chain or light duty cable, they can easily and completely be removed for your own safe passage.

@@foxtrot-Luv You could also drill a small hole into each one and thread a piece of 100 lb test braided fishing line through each in the middle but tying the ones on each end to the string. That braided line will blend in with its environment and will be strong while resisting the elements.
