The person who rated this 1 star deserves to be slapped: This is a useful video. I once tried doing this with clay, but the turned more into rounded bricks than sandbags. Maybe i'll try this idea later.

Wonderful. I love the way it takes shape and you have the balance of information and humour just right. So many of these videos are either people showing off what they can do without explaining WHAT they're doing or stand up comedy routines. I've done sandbags before but picked up a few tips from this video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Greenstuff is a sculpting putty. The Yellow is the putty while the Blue is the curing agent (makes it hard so your sculpt doesn't get ruined as you paint it move it around etc.) It is used to make conversions on figures making terrain really anything you want. It is a must have for any miniwar gamer! I just made my first set of sandbags the other night using GS. I hope this answered your question.

Green Stuff (just called green stuff) is a two-part modelling putty that is useful for filling in gaps on models and sculpting additional details. When the two colours are mixed together, they form a malleable putty that can be applied to plastic, resin and metal miniatures and then moulded into shape using a Citadel Sculpting Tool. Once it has fully cured, Green Stuff is solid enough to glue other components to and can be painted over using Citadel Paints.

Wargaming is a threefold hobby. Doing the research, painting the miniatures (and terrain) and playing the games. Once you learn that principle and real start to work on all aspects of your craft you can see how rich the hobby really is. To not do that is saying the only part of writing is selling the books or for the painter is the show in the art gallery. I know I'm going on but it is true.

No, simply because of the chemistry of Green Stuff. The Blue and Yellow separated don't form a chemical bond, but when you combine the two and turn it green, it starts a chemical reaction which causes the putty to harden.

My god, you speak so much truth. I used to spend a lot of money in MtG. Nowadays my thesis takes all the cash, but I pretty much cut down on MtG and got into Warmachine, I've been saved a few more bucks, heheh. Although, I have to admit, the only times I spend in MtG these days are in pre-releases and drafts.

@MrPeace93 Green stuff, is a two part epoxy, if you go to any hardware/hobby store and ask for epoxy they should know what you're looking for. Just a side note it doesn't have to be green stuff, other colors work just as well with very few differences between them. I hope that helps XD

Epoxy putty. Their are other brands - the stuff I have is called plumbers putty - but official green stuff is formulated a bit differently and works better for miniature terrain and general hobby projects.

the green stuff will stick to you when you try to let go of it/mix it, ect. That's why you want to keep you hands/whatever tools you're using to mold the greenstuff wet.

@shadowsnip1 Green Stuff is sold as two lines (which kinda look like Plasticine) which are yellow and blue, and when you mix the two lines together you get a resiny-plastic (I'm not certain) which you can use to model, or convert minis, or anything really, And no, Masonite doesn't warp... well, it hasn't for me anyway. :)

@Zwitter101 I agree with you, it's the same way across the pond. Video games are around $60 US Dollars and keep me entertained about a week or two (thank god for multiplayer), World of Warcraft is $15 a month, $180 a year (which really adds up if you think about it). Books, like you said, can be expensive, especially if you buy 3-4 books a month. Magic the Gathering and other card games also are expensive. Really in my opinion, GW is not as bad as people make it out to be, in all honesty.

I have been collecting for about 2 years as a student making minimum wage, living on his own. I bought one set at a time, only as fast as I could paint them. I now have over 2000 points of Imperial Guard. The thing thats so hard for me to get around to buying is... the books. My point: If I can do it on minimum wage, you can afford it while situated in your moms basement (kidding)

cheaper sand bags... just use rough paper and roll and so it into sand back like shapes fill the holes (or hide in some way can be a thin layer of thin paper) then paint them in light brown colour theme and clue them to a base if you want and that is pretty much it,,, xD hope it explains good enough,

@Zwitter101 Oh yeah, I can't agree more with you. Especially when my friends tell me that Magic the Gathering is a better investment of my money. Honestly no, to be competitive in that game you literally have to buy a new $400 deck or so every month or two due to the constant flux in metagame and bans. Also, painting is my favorite part of the hobby, I am by no means pro, but I love getting painted up and making them look as good as possible.
