I don't understand; why are you sanding in a carpeted house?
@BrainFizz Жыл бұрын
This house was actually vacant with the owners living in another property at the time. The entire house was being completely renovated top to bottom, requiring, and a complete new central heating system. New doors throughout, kitchens and bathrooms replaced. The carpets were left as the protected the floor boards beneath and kept the sounds of the trades across the house down too. Once it was fully decorated at the end, the old carpets would have been removed and replaced by the carpet fitters prior to the cleaning company handing back to the owners before they moved in. But aside from this fact, you wouldn’t miss out the sanding step just because there was a carpet fitted you’d clean up afterwards…🤦♂️

Thanks for the video. Loved how you stopped to give a hand on the new windows and door 🙂

She loves making things too! If I can’t encourage that, what kind of person would I be!?? We probably still have that house too!😂

That's a great tip, Richard! I've made plenty of sanding blocks from wood scrapes but adding a contour to one of them would be quite a pain. I always seem to have some rigid foam around from packaging. I'll give this a try! Thanks for the video. -mike

+goptools No problem Mike. I think i saw this on Pinterest or similar, I wasn't convinced that it would actually work, But it's loads better than trying to roll up sheets. It works better on the smoother grits, the 100G was a pain, but the the 120 much easier. hope it saves you a few painful hours down the line! :-)

what foam did you use?
@BrainFizz7 жыл бұрын
It's just a high density foam. same sort of stuff you find in insulation. might be listed as "rigid foam" as well, seen it in pink, blue, light green and a pale yellow - i think the blue is the most rigid. Hope that helps.

Just by Soft-Sanders! They are already made have different shapes, Concave, convex, holds their shape with paper on it. Comes in different densities and lengths. The Super-Flex Sandpaper the best on the market last about 5 times longer than all the rest of the sandpaper out there.

Kinda defeats the object of the excercise - sometimes “just spend money on a companies products” isn’t always the best approach. Also I think you mean “buy”
