Back from my trip and that means YAY back to binging your Sip & Feast videos! I cooked for my dad for awhile and he always wanted me to tone down the arrabiata with my usual sweet sauce. It was a nice mix and gave it a little kick too with the chile flakes. The shrimp fra diavolo may have been my first "adult" dish too! Though it might have been chicken because EVERYTHING was chicken for me then. LOL

I melted a load of butter, Panko crumbs, Dried chili flakes and added dried Garlic crumbs (not flaked or powder but the other kind) toasting it all till it was golden brown. I then used this to sprinkle over the pasta and followed it with a mixture of Flat leaf (continental) parsley and Coriander (Cilantro) - Best experiment I've ever tried with Seafood/Tomato/Pasta Next time I'm sure it will be even better if I add some Lemon zest as well (ie like a Gremolata) I was still cleaning the sauce off the back of my ears the next morning - YUMO!

Another EASY but fantastic looking dish! Never heard of the baking soda thing before with shrimp, but I'll definitely give it a try. Just as an aside, I recently bought this gizmo from Pampered Chef, it's a garlic slicer. You put the garlic down inside of it and turn it like a pepper grinder and you get tissue thin slices of garlic. It's my new favorite way to use garlic in a lot of dishes.

My Calabrese Peperoncino arrived today, so it was time to tackle this recipe. OMG. So good. Like you, this is my go-to order when eating at any Italian restaurant. And I’ve tried to recreate it at home dozens of times, but always by doctoring jarred sauce. Never again, cooking with whole San Marzano Tomatoes has been revolutionary. And adding the Peperoncino is brilliant as well. One question: The printed recipe calls for Brandy, but I didn’t see it on the video. Is there any reason to use the Brandy? Cheers!
@SipandFeast3 жыл бұрын
Hey some of my recipes will be slightly different in the print versions. I do like it with the Brandy, but the white wine is pretty good too. Maybe try the Brandy next time and see if you like it?
@petercarroll23233 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I add a little freshly squeezed lemon juice to the dish to brighten it up … also, I add a tbsp or two of unsalted butter when making the sauce. … and I definitely like my Scampi with some pasta, usually linguine but in a smaller dose so the shrimps standout as the stars of the show.
