Never, ever heard of boiled peanuts. I roast a bag of peanuts every Sunday. It's a tradition in my country that we finish off the Sunday meal with roasted peanuts in their shells. Will give these a try for a change, although, if I understood correctly, these are eaten as a snack between meals or in front of tv.

I know you're a proper Southern lady and maybe other people don't eat them like this, but I just put the whole, unopened boiled peanut in my mouth and suck and drink all the salty juice out and then crack it open in my mouth and separate it from the shell and eat it that way and then spit out the shell, just like eating sunflower seeds! If you can't do that, you can always just barely crack the shell length wise, pull it out of your mouth, eat the peanut and then throw away the shell! 🤤

Big fan of boiled peanuts, but living in SoCal... getting harder to fine raw peanuts. , had to switch to roasted no salt peanuts to make boil ... I can get it close, but it not the same.

Gregg H. as an Army Wife with an Army Life, I learned to improvise a lot during our active duty days. I found some raw in the shell peanuts on Amazon last fall when someone else was asking. PNUTS.net has them raw and free shipping right now. Good Luck!🍀🥜🍀

May I ask where you get your peanuts from? I cant tead the label on the bag in the video. Also, this may sounds like a silly question living in the north the only place that I can find raw in-shell peanuts is Tractor Supply Company and they are labeled for squirrels. I assume they are safe for human consumption also no, but maybe not. Ones that are labeled for squirrels may not graded for quality and might be more likely to be infested with insects for other pests.

James McDonald I just checked Amazon and there are several options available there. If you don’t mind buying from the Behemoth.

James McDonald I find mine every fall at the Ft Bragg Commissary, but they are Virginia peanuts and the brand is Owen Brothers from Jarratt, Virginia.

can I use any peanuts or do they have to be in cooked?

Matthew Patterson I have only used green (fresh) peanuts or raw in the shell peanuts. You can find them on the internet.🥜

It's perfect except for I add some vinegar cause then you get an extra kick of tangy flavor. You should also soak and rinse them several times cause some still have alot of dirt on them.

Don't all shelled peanuts come with red skin? I am having trouble finding some online.

Enjoyed your video. We live in SC. and get peanuts that are shipped in to the grocery stores. They are not bagged...you just measure out the amount you want, but they will soon be out of season. May I ask you where you get the large bags that you are using in the video?

Beverly Watson I found these which are Owen Brothers , at the Fort Bragg Commissary. I have also found them at a local IGA store. I just bought 2 more bags yesterday and store them in my extra refrigerator and they keep all year. The ones that you scoop, as long as they aren’t green peanuts, would keep in a plastic grocery bag with the top tied.
