usually i do a teardrop loop for my bracelets, but im making an alpha bracelet this time and was looking for an easy and neat looking way to start it, this worked really well. thanks for the tutorial :)

It seems this would only work with patterns whose threads are mirrored, right? for example if you had different colors starting on either side of your bracelet in the first row, it wouldn't work

Yes this loop will work for alpha bracelets. You can either add the background colour afterwards or make it part of the loop (depending whether you need an odd or even number of threads)
