This is a very famous Syrian dessert especially in city of Hama.Try making it with Palestinain Akkawi or nabulsi cheese ,a taste of heaven but if you are forced to use Mozeralla chese, better be the fresh one.

Beautiful adaptation, as a Lebanese guy this is my favorite dessert. My only 2 suggestions are adding rose or orange blossom water to the syrup, or another aromatic extract, and replacing the whipped cream with beaten ricotta cheese for a more authentic taste/texture. Wonderful work!
@tamannabeniwal69775 жыл бұрын
What is ricotta cheese and blossom water as u mentioned in the comment.... Can we use kewra jal instead of these???
@elioazar51035 жыл бұрын
@@tamannabeniwal6977 I dont know what these are but ricotta is the italian name of what in lebanon we call Arisheh, which is super easy to make you just heat milk till it boils and then add lemon or other acid as soon as it does. The milk curds will coagulate and form on top and you leave it for a while then scoop them out. Make sure to add enough acid to get all the curds. Orange blossom water is a levantine floral essence that you can replace with another food essence.

Liza Cayne "Ashta/Qashta". Search it on youtube it is a mediterranean cream used in most of the lebanese and arabic desserts.

This is a recipe. It is mainly boiled milk with venigar. Really simple. kzbin.info/www/bejne/al6nYayYeMespbs
@hana.the.writer50746 жыл бұрын
Heavy thick cream.. more like whipped cream but whipped too hard to hold sgape. In our region this cream that this recipe called for is like what our friend here said.. it's called Qishta.. the substance that floats on top of slowly boiled fat milk. Meaning of qishta is shaven.. they collect the floating substance and have it fresh with bread.
