PRO TIP!!!!
✅use your favorite flour tortillas, if they are not homemade my second choice are from tortilla land ☺️ you can use the soft taco tortillas but personally not my favorite
✅use medium cheddar cheese make SURE YOU grate it
Taco Bell uses the microwave I don’t but you can 😅
Bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef (85/15)
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp New Mexico chili powder
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Salt to taste
4 tsp tomato paste
2 tbsp APF (all purpose flour)
1/2 cup water
Enchilada sauce (gravy style)
4 cups water or beef broth
4 tbsp tomato paste
4 1/2 tbsp New Mexico chili powder
1/2 tbsp paprika
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp beef bouillon
Salt to taste
4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp APF
Flour tortillas
Refried beans
Medium cheddar cheese
Sour cream
And all your favorite toppings
1 serving of love 💕

The recipe is wrong. The original tortilla used was a corn/flour tortilla. That's why it was so much better.

When I was a kid I remember when they added it to the menu It had a golden corn tortilla Real onions with the meat and beans Black olives as a garnish in a aluminum egg shape pan with a plastic lid Later they added the green onions

Actually they said it was food color on white flour tortilla. You may be right. Honestly I don’t know. But I think I’m right. Was in the mid 70s when I worked there. Bellbeefers. Beefy tostadas. Even fried the original taco salad bowls using a mitt and a big metal pitcher to hold it in the oil.

The excitement didn't last because when I got it, it was a flour tortilla and did not have the same taste. It was corn/flour hybrid tortilla.

I worked at Taco Bell during high school when enchiritos were still on the menu and when all of the menu items were spelled out phonetically (tah-co, buh-ree-to) for the benefit of the Yanquis. Enchiritos and "bell beefers" were the best items that the chain had to offer.

I found a recipe one time for the red sauce for Taco Bell, lost it and was never able to replicate it again. There’s a dozen online but it doesn’t taste like it. I’m pretty sure you nailed it!
