@@noahgreenhouse9913 The fuck are you talking about? No bitch that's all intentional. It's my styleeeeee. A bunch of random ass images and slight epileptic unnecessary things that don't fit and this and that to fill up the dead space and add some nice flair! I did everything myself over the course of several months without anyone or anything else's assistance of any kind. I just don't properly plan out every single last thing ahead of time before I start working on it so I just kinda have jackshit of anything to put in the background. Plus I think it makes it more entertaining and comedic or some shit. That's such a sad thing to read honestly but I guess that's where we're at as a species. AI is dumb. It really has ruined a lot of things more than it's helped, hasn't it?

@@AikenisSticky Sorry for offending you as that wasn't my intention, the editing is very impressive, it's just not my cup of joe. If you want to appeal to more wider audiences you may want to consider a slower editing style with less quick cuts, because I had to leave the video early as it was giving me a headache to watch.

@@noahgreenhouse9913 WHAT?! OFFENDING ME????? I'm not offended! I meannnnnnn maybe? It's more of a case by case basis me thinks. Some types of videos benefit from slower, calmer stuff and some benefit from more fast paced and chaotic stuff. This video in particular is an INTENSE-themed sort of thing so it's not really supposed to be especially pleasant in any way but plenty of others definitely shouldn't be like THIS. I agree. Anyways, thank you for the lovely little compliments!

the governor had the advantage of his comic counterpart being so infamous too. While the TV show didn't have him do even half the deranged crap the comic gov did you never knew if he would. In the early scenes hes always telling his men secrets and whispering so the audience misses what ever devious plan hes cooking up until it happens. When he bamboozes the heli pilot and his men, when he teases a SA of Maggie, when he threatens to crop off glenns hand, and when he has the face to face with rick. All those scenes are just perfection of putting the audience on the edge of their seats. And then towards the end of season three when he has the torture chair set up just waiting for a victim it is all so suspenseful. While negan was comically over the top the governor felt like true terror to me

Yeah, you are very, very right about all that with especially adding on to the uncertainty if you're a fucking nerd and read the comics first! One is just super duper cold and the other not so much. The classic Evil VS Broken; Too Far Gone and not exactly. Also another big ole thing is that The Governor is pretty universally seen as a piece of shit while Negan's glorious deeds of narcissistic fucked-up-ness get a bit muddied with how people view them because he's super charismatic, likeable, and has pretty fair reasons for why he's doing the things he is beyond the simple vengefulness, being controlling, or 'because I can'. His reasons aren't exactly baseless, but they are typically just complete bullshit excuses to justify why it's A-okay so he can retain control. It does certainly work to make the audience side with him a bit more. I actually have another video essay planned out to cover him too sooo yes! It'll probably be fucking months from now when I'm finished with that because uhhh procrastination mostly. Who knows!

I dissagree, I've never read the comic and I was terrified of him once we saw how demented in he was in one single episode. How he goes from friendly, to destroying what was left of the national guard, to sitting in an office with walker heads in fishtanks.

@@winterfire1097 With all due respect, WinterWonderland, you can't exactly have all too much of an opinion if you don't know JUST HOW MUCH WORSE he is in the comics. It's quite substantially toned down for the show and he's pretty much a completely different character. The show's version of him is certainly more realistic than the comic's though! But yeah, it sure is a very good initial showcasing of his true colors. Most definitely. I like him as a character in the show more.

8:27 How you described the governor is exactly how I feel about Shane. There's all this talk in the fandom on how quickly he adapted, but I could never bring myself to see it that way. Imo, Shane didn't adapt. He was just in a predicament where being his true self would be socially acceptable. How I see it...the reason why Shane thought the worst of new faces and why he was so eager to kill them was just projection. Because if he were alone and approached a new group, his intentions would be to bring them harm. Shane telling Rick the story about sleeping with his married teacher. Let me know that apocalypse or not, Shane isn't above taking part in affairs.

Governor is a better Villian than Negan

People need to understand the difference between being a villain and being an antagonist. A villain is a moral standpoint whereas an antagonist is a literary point of view. While Negan was certainly a bad person in a multitude of ways, The Governor was more VILLAINOUS in his evil actions and motivations. Negan wanted to start rebuilding the world but was corrupted by power, himself, or the world around him. The Governor was an average man before all of it but became psychopathic and evil after the world fell apart and took his daughter from him shortly after losing his wife. Negan wasn’t too far gone to be with other people in beneficial ways but The Governor was an active threat both internally and externally. Looking at the two antagonists with this in mind, The Governor is far more villainous than Negan ever was.
