@MM-dm4xj Жыл бұрын
Obviously. Lets pretend that walkers are actually a thing in the real world, do you think they could cause the fall of civiliization? No, because walkers or zombies lack the one thing that makes humans dangerous: Intelligence. They are walking automatons. Hell, even tigers and bears are more dangerous since they are at least fast and physically strong. Walkers are neither. Complete bullshit that the walkers from TWD could cause all of this. The Gov was the best villain in the TWD universe, in my opinion. Negan was a close 2nd. The Gov was Negan + full-blown-psychopath. The Gov's attitude was 'if I'm not the captain of this ship, then I will sink this ship'. The most powerful scene is when he destroyed Woodbury. I think it takes another level of evil to commit genocide on your own community that you built. Not Negan, not Alpha would stoop that low. As Carl & Rick pointed out, they believed that it was possible for anyone to change, no matter how dark of a path the person was on. The Gov was an exception. He was too far gone.

The Governor actually did try and run away with his new found family. But then they ran into some weird looking Walker mud wall lol I don't get why they just didn't find another route but yea he did try but it's almost like faith wanted him to take up the leadership position again. Also Ricks speech about living together with the Governor was just another one of Ricks manipulation tactics like he did with Shane and how does with Negan. I think Rick genuinely wanted to try with the governor. This was a point in Rick's arc where he was trying to do things the right way under Hershel's guidance. The governor was just too far gone to cooperate with reasonable people. Shane and Negan are 2 very different examples under very different circumstances. With Shane it was doing what he had to do. Shane led him out to kill him and Shane was a threat to everybody. Rick tried and tried to reason with him and he let it go as far as it could've. Now fast forward with Negan. This is definitely Rick's lowest point as a character and is only being driven by pure anger. And it didn't help that at the time his best moral compass, Morgan, had also relapsed into his darker side. It was at the very moment that Rick cut Negan's throat that he realized he didn't have to do that. And Carl's final wishes were ringing in his head and he remembered what was important. People say that the terminus people or the claimers were the turning point for Rick but it all started with the governor. He tried reasoning with an unstable and unreasonable person and had to watch Hershel die and lose their home because of it.
@gyr0zeppeliii507 Жыл бұрын
You def didn’t understand ricks speech if you thought that was a manipulation tactic by him, the episode title is too far gone to signify that while you(Rick) can try you best to be better and do better some people( the governor) are too far gone Plus the whole attack on the prison wasn’t to actually take and live in the prison all the governor really wanted was revenge that’s why he shot it with a tank. I agree with the governor's stance of newcomers coming and going. This is the apocalypse do they need to run to the mall? No, in fact they could be captured by a rival group and they give up all of the important information, opsec about Woodbury. Their unrestricted movements would have to be earned in time in that situation
@anthonyspitery6332 Жыл бұрын
The Governor believes the only way to live is by killing. It’s not just about preservation-its what makes him FEEL alive. He called Rick a liar because Rick actually was one…the way he killed Shane and the Saviors in season 8 giving them “his word” proved his dark side. When the gov was out with Martinez and the bois in season 4 he came across a few corpses with their heads cut off. One said “Rapist” and the other said “Liar” I think its why he got the inspiration from a fellow killer who collects heads like himself that reinstated his belief and thats why he killed Hershel

They probably exchanged firearms all the time on the force together as Sheriffs so to do that to him again right after the scrap with Randall in the parking lot and again right before he stabs him in the field was just cold af. Rick's stength in his forced moment for survival is using his honest intentions with deceit. It's also how he bit Joe's throat out, or slashed Neagan's throat. Very dark quality Rick has that really is not talked about much imo

There's a third option that I think the Governor considered, and then immediately rejected. One I think Rick might've done the opposite. Let the soldiers know that you saved one of their men, and then invite them. Having well trained soldiers, their weapons, vehicles and supplies to add to your resources could be a benefit. You got more people protecting the community, and better equipment to keep people safe, and to use for gathering supplies. Could even expand the community's borders. I think the Governor simply wanted to keep the status quo the it was. He didn't want to share power, he liked being seen as king. The reason why he wanted Rick and his group dead, was because what they did. Was an insult to his ego, his position of power. He said it to Rick's face, that keeping them around after rescuing Glenn and Maggie, after the shootout at Woodbury. Made him look weak to the people of Woodbury.
